Re: MG34 Bakelite Buttstock w/ metal tips...

MG34 Bakelite Buttstock w/ metal tips...

Just picked this up...the cool thing about it is that I have the metal tips...just have to find what box I put them in... . If anyone has a spare buttstock socket, and the screw, along with the bakelite end piece let me know. Thanks, Chris...

Bummer, oh well, at least I didn't pay that much for it, and it'll sure look good on display..... Now if I would have paid a ton of money for this it would be a different story....guess you can't win every one... CHris..

1st Model Charging handle has arrived....

Just came in today, verdict is still out as to if original or not. I like the rust on it, but that can be faked. Haven't seen any markings as of yet..

Current pricing on MG42 Lafettes/German

What would be the value range of a 42 Lafette that has German markings throughout, it is an old I/O import, no Yugo paint, it has a darker grey paint to it, not the pea green yugo or norwegian paint. No bolt box, no range table on the back. Is 900$ reasonable? It seems like the values have came down...

Re: Browning .32

I always check completed auctions on gunbroker to get a feel for what the market is bringing.... Last two FN 1922's I picked up I think I paid around 240$ or each one, but that was several years ago. I'm going to guess minimum 350$, probably closer to 400$ w/ the holster. Chris....

Use the search function on the forum and dig back through all the threads. TNW is the 800 pound gorilla in the room, they need tweaking and babying at times, but they do work.... There are trigger upgrades available as well. Chris...

Re: MG42 Lafette project

That leather looks good....I had a good solution for mine....I was lucky enough to score an original MG34 Tripod 4 years ago or so, that had postwar canvas pads....I went to a local Salvation Army and found a nicely weathered leather jacket that made a perfect donor for replacements.... Looked the p...

Re: Gauging interest on another run of longer trip levers/sears

Sear/Trip levers are in.... Machine shop charged a little more for this run, but not too bad. My Previous prices were 29$ for one, and 26$ for each additional. This included free shipping...and still does. New prices are 32$ for one shipped, and 29$ for each additional, only 3$ more per sear/trip le...

Re: Need some scope can dimensions info?

I am restoring an earlier MGZ can as well at some point so this will be helpful. The MGZ40 cans are quite a bit different with the placement of the wood blocks. There is an internal piece to hold the MGZ40 collimator assembly, and the lens holder in the top of the can is quite different. Thanks, Chr...

Re: Feed tray fit question.

Would be hard to say without seeing it in person, but if you look at an original receiver there are slight depressions located on the top of the receiver, when the feed tray comes down upon that it needs to have that bevel in it so the spring retainers in the feed tray will begin to engage to snap d...

Need some scope can dimensions info?

I need some help w/ restoring an MGZ40 (later model) scope can. What is the length and width of the wood block in the lid that holds the accessory lenses? Also, what is the diameter of the two holes (and depth if possible) of the section that retains the lenses? Secondly, within the can, how long is...
