German Machine Guns by Musgrave is $35 at http://www.SarcoInc.com , MG34/42 by Myrvang is $80 unless you shop on ebay and get it for $70.... where did the price of $160 come from? Stay away from book dealers at gunshows. They are as bad the the friendly fellows who stand at the door to see if they c...

Those two books really don't compete with each other. Musgrave's German Machineguns is a general book with a little about all of them, while Myrvang's book goes into great detail about just the MG34 and MG42. I'd have to say both are worth buying. Then if you want to learn operational details about ...

Spanish Police stop a kidnapper on a motorcycle - movie

On the LINKS page on my website ( http://www.GermanManuals.com ) I've put a video of the police in Spain stopping a kidnapper. The guy is trying to make a getaway on a motorcycle when BLAM! the police pull out in front of him. OOOPS! Wanna see a bad guy twirl in the air? This is it. Great stuff. Go ...

they were used in wartime as blanks. The Germans were great believers in using blanks for training. I've never seen any, for sale or otherwise.

I don't remember what town it was in, and I already deleted the bookmark for it. I look at a few auctions and some websites there once in a while. If I see another one, I'll post it on here. It's the second one I've seen for sale in the last year, so it's not a common thing. It would have been nice ...

The receiver sold for 61 euros, or about $75.00 would have been nice to just have half of it for twice the money, eh?

Wenn ich nach Deutschland kommen kann, erhalte ich eine Säge und schneide der Gehause in 3 Stücke, um Haus einzeln zu senden. Ja! Or for those of you who prefer it in English: If I can get to Germany, I will get a saw and cut the receiver into 3 pieces to send home one at a time. Yes! I really nee...

MG42 receiver for sale, in Germany only

Here's one that'll make ya cry. In Germany, the bolt is considered the gun. You're allowed a complete receiver, but no bolt. Here's a picture of a receiver that's for sale in Germany, for Germans only. No exports, so it's a real shame. The guy says it has some pitting, so it's for sale to the highes...

I deleted the reference to the 20mm rifle. It was misleading the way I wrote it. My son didn't send me anything.... I didn't say that he did. Somebody else sent me the video, and said nothing about it. Can't say what the targets are personally. If they're prairie dogs, I guess I didn't know they liv...

Movie of 4 shots - not for kids

I have a video on my website showing 4 shots being taken. This is not for a weak stomached treehugger to watch. You've been warned. Yes, really. Go to my website, go to the MANUALS page. At the very bottom is a line with my copyright notice in it. Move your cursor to just under my name, and the curs...

THe number under the small eagle (waffenamt) is the inspector's number. If the inspector moved to a different plant, his stamps went with him. There's a listing of where the inspectors were and when. Some move to a few different plants, some inspectors stayed at the same plant throughout the war.

MP44DUDE: Naw, this isn't just a place for semi auto guns. While we may be outnumbered by the semi owners, full speed rock and roll is alive and well here. I see un numbered trigger groups on ebay once in a while. Some of the earlier 42 grips were numbered, the later ones weren't. During the last 3 years, I picked up 3 of them as spares for my 42.... no you can't have one. I got mine for around $50. Stripped trigger housings are available at RTG ( http...

I downloaded that PDF manual over a year ago. I didn't think anyone would want it since it's in German, so I didn't mention it. It's pretty tough to get a decent picture out of a PDF file, so I tracked down the actual ZDv 3/14 manual and bought it (two of them, actually). This manual is the one that...

the semi grip is completely different internally. different holes are drilled for the hammer, etc. and a different length. you couldn't get it to fit the hole in your MG. not compatible at all.
