Re: MG34 Semi auto bolt jamming

Hi Radar, just noticed your post. If you haven't got it running yet, you might actually take a look at the ejector, the little pin atop the right side of the bolt head, while you're hand cycling the weapon. If the ejector in in the "rearward" position as the bolt moves forward, it can catc...

Re: Ebay ad MG34 barrel - odd

The bevel pinion is cut for a keyway, so it transmitted torque to another beveled gear, at 90 degrees maybe. The "teeth" are worn out. Somebody just tapped it onto the tapered MG34 barrel and buried it a long time ago. Interesting.....Phil

Re: 34 lafette bracket

AS I follow the listings on G/B for "MG34 parts", there are a couple of folks in So CA that typically advertise. One in particular has a ROOMFULL of MG34s on Lafette-34s. He just sold a latch, inexpensively. I would get to know him by purchasing some random part...then breach the question....

The folks in France making the MG42 repro flat charging handle is "AASsniper98". Great people with a lot of re-produced MG items. Priced in Euros = expensive. Great web catalog. He is on US Ebay as "miminana83". Do a search for him by seller, then click on any of his products and...

Re: Full length recuperator hole?

The cut-receiver piece you have is from an MG34 that was built with the "Reglar" rate-of-fire reducer system. The barrel-return plunger hole is drilled front-to-back and houses a longer-than-normal barrel return pushrod. The special receiver is also threaded in the rear for a spring and pl...

Here's one, very close to complete, with a lot of the tough work done.
Buffer cut...done
Charging handle cut...done
Bolt mods...done
You could probably complete this with a couple of welds, without machine tools....Phil

Re: weld up a receiver (w/no welding experience)

http://mg34.com/product/m-53-mg42-spare-parts-set// If you want a semi-auto MG42-type weapon, the easiest route is to purchase an M53 kit from Allegheny Arsenal. Their kits contain ALL of the receiver parts. You don't need a mill at all...just patience welding up the parts of the receiver straight. ...

Re: MG34 from TNW

The "cock on opening", against the mighty TNW firing pin spring, is what gives their MG34 its hard charging and trigger pull. Remember, the power of the round firing and barrel recoil has to re-cock the bolt with every shot. The same spring certainly ensures that the firing pin is held ret...
