Re: Repro slab handle cocking lever is back on eBay

Just for S&G's I wrote the seller asking "Is this an original or reproduction?".
His reply was "Original ww2, regards' jcl" So I replied "Hello Jean, Please forward a closeup photo of the inspectors markings."

Needless to say, he hasn't sent any closeup photos...... 8)

Re: MG-15 Barrel Shroud

You may very well be right regarding the items from IMA - Some of their items are reproductions and they don't always clarify if they are or not. Here is another wartime photo and you can clearly see that the buttstock uses the clasp style lock and it also has a folding shoulder pad. http://www.auto...

Re: MG-15 Barrel Shroud

I think the buttstock that does not fold is Romanian and the folding one is war-time German.
Here is a War-time German drawing of the MG15 in ground configuration. Note the folding stock.

Re: A 1941 dated byf MG42?

If you look at the photo after inverting you can clearly see the line at the bottom that was left by the belt sander.
You would think that someone going to all of this trouble would have gotten the date and makers code right...

Re: Anyone know the BRP guys?

Michael, Regardless of the design of their stampings, I suspect trying to get an export license for anything remotely associated with a machine gun would be nearly impossible. Couple that with your age of 16 or 17 and you have the added problem of selling to a minor. IMHO Your trying to import items...

Re: WTS: DP-28 Kit With Uncut Barrel Shroud

Several have asked about the barrel and receiver stub.

Barrel bore is excellent (appears to be unfired) and receiver stub barrel threads are undamaged.

I hope your friend can shed some more light on this subject. Here is what I have found out regarding the MG15 / ST61 1) Aircooled MG15's were imported by IMA from Portugal 2) Watercooled ST61's were imported from Romania by IMA and Century History of the ST61 is an undocumented mystery but the rumor...
