HK marking on MG34
I was looking at a front receiver stub. On the top front left there is a marking about 1/4" HK in a circle.
I don't recall any HK marking on the MG34. And I can't imagine it would be Heckler Koch because I'm unaware of any MG34 refurb programs.
Any ideas?

Re: Restoring 34 Lafette
Thanks for the insights. I contacted Greg who claimed he did not have a correct MG34 end cap, but cut me a deal on a 42 Yugo complete upper which was OK since I needed some of those parts anyway. This "kit" I bought is mostly reject parts, and missing lots of parts. Now I have everything I need exce...

Restoring 34 Lafette
I got a 34 Lafette partial kit to restore! Yeah! Another project! The rear end cap is sadly gone, so no markings there. However, the lower assembly is marked ECY. And, the original color was dunkelgelb. Now, if I read Bergflak's website properly, this would only be the second known ECY in dunkelgelb...

Re: The evilest of MG34 problems. Need some help
If you remove the FH and booster you should be able to get the barrel to slide a bit forward. This probably won't fix the problem, but it will rule out interference caused by the barrel or "something" busted or jammed between barrel and bolt head.

Re: MG-3 kits ---What do you think ?
There's one on GB that must have come from this importation. The receiver is smashed far worse than the one shown on RTI's website. However, it did include the trunion.

Re: MG-3 kits ---What do you think ?
Looks like it's also missing the trunion and internals of the recuperator, as well as the bolt head.
All the same, I ordered one, so we'll see!
Thanks for the heads-up.

Re: SG-43 Semi-Auto
There's a wealth of info on Weaponeer. If nothing else you should get informed about the designs, faults, and options. Greg Clark also sells a CD with his build technique. That's a good plan to follow. "how much" depends on a lot of things, such as how much work YOU can do. Doing your own grinding a...

Re: Receivers from BRP
NOTE!! For Yugo kit owners
Adler's approach uses the barrel bushing from the MG3 variant as well as an MG3 rear section w/ the buffer tabs.
The Yugo M53 buffer will NOT fit up with the MG3 buffer tabs (or the MG42 for that matter).

Re: My MG-34 receiver
My buddy picked up one at KCR. That specimen was way out of spec and required a lot of work. The stock buffer where it screws in wouldn't both because the threads were too far forward and out of alignment. The cams need to be mounted, which is a job. I forgot what else was wrong with it, but enough ...

Which 308 weld rod to use?
I read that 308 is the stuff to use for a semi reweld, but when I look at Amazon it's not that simple. There's different compounds with nickel, silicon, etc.
Which is the best?

I saw that and wondered as well. Clearly, it won't work in the MG34.

Re: Full length recuperator hole?
From searching this board there are apparently two lengths of recuperator. However, AFAIK neither would be as long as required for this receiver, and neither is threaded on the rear. I suppose pics are now in order.

Re: Full length recuperator hole?
I don't know John, not familiar w/ MG3 recuperator. This is an MG34, not 42.
The inside face of the exterior of the hole has been removed, revealing a threaded section, so the end of the recuperator one would assume would be threaded.

Full length recuperator hole?
I have a cut original receiver and the recuperator hole is drilled all the way through to the rear of the receiver. It's all blued, so doesn't look like somebody monkeyed it. Any thoughts?
