"Kroil" works well for me.
Submergence in this stuff for a couple days, then the freezer, then the heat gun. Once the Kroil does its work, along with the temperature extremes, the parts will be as loose as they're ever gonna get.
Good luck!....Phil

Re: Jigs
There are plenty of photos on the Site showing how the folks here built their M53 semi's. Here's a couple. Basically, repair your forward shroud bushing, making certain that the barrel has a few thou" clearance between the front bushing and the rear stop. Welding being what it is, the common "EZ-tra...

Re: MG34 and BREN
That's some nice equipment. Congrats, and thanks for the pictures. I've read that the biggest drawback of the BREN was getting those rimmed .303 cartridges into the mag without having them bunch up and climb over each other. Like loading a Mosin..... A problem that was avoided by the Czech 7.92mm ve...

Re: MG34 Training Rounds
czerka, "Blanksguy" here at the site would know how to fix the feed problem. You may need one of his "blank-firing barrel" 2-piece setups instead of just the restrictor in place of the flash hider. From what I understand, it takes a lot more momentum to cycle the long live barrel. I believe he also ...

Re: Mg34 problems
The TNW bolt cocks on opening, using up a lot of the recoil energy just to overcome the very stiff firing-pin spring. It is tough to cock the bolt by hand while holding it...imagine the bolt cocking against the friction of the sliding surfaces, rollers, and the recoil spring, all while operating the...

Re: The evilest of MG34 problems. Need some help
Hi Flem, the charging handle also releases the bolt catch under the lower part of the shroud. "The bolt catch (#A19) prevents the bolt from pre-mature unlocking, and serves as a catch for the cocking handle". Folke. Could having the bolt catch engaged be an additional impediment to the release of th...

Re: TNW "new problem"
Hope you've got it resolved by now. If it's a TNW gun running their firing pin spring, a LOT of the energy of the bolt is used up cocking itself due to the monstrous firing pin spring tension. The bolt needs to hit the buffer spring really hard and be flung foreward with plenty of energy. If it's al...

Oldrelic, Congratulations on your project. It looks perfectly realistic. Nice job!
