Where do you see the actual gun? It is not in the link. Are you guys perhaps just making up "bits"? Pretty fun if you are

Wehrmacht MG42 Qualification Test
I have several WW2 weapons qualification cards and one book. Does anybody know what the original Wehrmacht MG42 Qualification Test consisted of? I would like to see if I can qualify myself on the MG42 using the original standard and course set-up.

Re: Someone order an Mg42 from Lithuania?
Wow, I guess Post Offices everywhere are slow. But 65 years! The MG42 could have walked on its own to Germany in that time

Pressure Plate Mystery
Okay, I give. How do you remove the pin that holds the pressure plate? I have tried driving it out with a pin from both sides but it won't budge. To be safe, I have put a piece of 2x4 under the feed tray cover to protect the metal. Any tricks of the trade or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Re: MG42 Belts/Links
Thanks John! The ones I own have rings holding them together. How do you link the ring type? Where do you get the rings and is there a technique for bending them correctly?

MG42 Belts/Links
Is there a proven technique to link 50 round 8mm Mauser MG42 belts together to make a single 250 round belt? Also, is it possible to use German DM-6 Improved Disintegrating Links with 8mm Mauser ammunition in an MG42?

Re: welding...
Welding isn't that hard. I took a welding class at community college for $400 and took the kids with me. I bought an Everlast Arc/TIG welder for $575 that came with most items needed to weld. I spent about a $1,000 to get a welding table, helmets (my kids love welding), rods, scrap iron to practice ...

Re: WTB MG2/MG42 Tripod Mounting Pin for Rear MG Lock
Yes, there are two holes on the lower rail. Once for pistol grip and one for the pin to slide into the lafette like the pic. Seems like we have a solution.
Thanks!

Re: WTB MG2/MG42 Tripod Mounting Pin for Rear MG Lock
To be honest, I couldn't tell you if it is the part as I have never seen one. It looks like it would work. I am curious to know how it doesn't fall out of the gun, does the pressure from the tripod keep the bolt in-place? Anybody know? All I know is from putting the MG42 in the lafette and the techn...

WTB MG2/MG42 Tripod Mounting Pin for Rear MG Lock
I need the pin that goes onto the receiver of an MG/3MG42 which allows the MG to fit into the rear MG lock of the Feldlafette. If anyone has one oor knows where to get one, I would appreciate it.
