Re: My MG42 Lafette Restoration Project
I used a dremel with cutting wheel on my Wiselite block to make it fit. Not quite a 1/2 half inch had to come off but it fits. I will be replacing the block in the future. Harry

Correct the Wiselite Generation Two receiver is cut in half and then machined before being welded back together. It has the rails machined in. Harry

Re: weld up a receiver (w/no welding experience)
It does not look like the bolt mods have been completed due to the angle of the hammer slot. But the rest of it looks like an easy build. Harry

Re: Philadelphia ordinance m42 80% ever built?
I too have a new Philly receiver that came with a kit I purchased a while back. I would be interested in how one could machine a good semi-receiver out of it. Harry

Re: MG34 from TNW
Forgot to address the cocking handle pull. It will take about 100 rounds through the gun to get it loosened up. To make it easier be sure to clean the lugs inside of the barrel that the bolt locks into. Put some LIGHT grease in there to get it to unlock easier. When I am breaking the gun in for abou...

Re: MG34 from TNW
This is a two part answer as I tried to answer the trigger tuning and included an attachment that went into space somewhere. SO here are just the words. The area that the two rollers on the trigger bar ride on at the bottom of the receiver need to be polished. The rollers need to be oiled well and a...

Re: My new TWN MG-34
Nice 37 gun, I have a 38 Mauser MG34 that I have been gathering the early parts for such as the milled feed cover and early rate fire pistol grip. It goes off to TNW for a matching receiver shortly. Harry

Re: Early MG34 butt stock
Which is why I am looking for a price on this stock. I have a six kits left and three SA MG34's and about the same for the MG42's. I either traded into them or purchased when the prices were not near what they are now. Paying $500 for an early butt is hard to justify right now but I am giving it tho...

Early MG34 butt stock
Folks How much is an early issue MG34 butt stock with the metal caps on the top and bottom of the rear of the stock worth? There is a guy selling one but wants a serious offer and the $200.00 I offered was not serious enough. I have a really nice Mauser 1938 MG34 kit that while the jacket and bipod ...

Re: WW2 era MG42 belt loader modified to only load 308??
The Austrian Army modified almost all of their WWII loaders to 7.62 NATO so most you will find have the Nazi Chicken markings on them; there should be a small BH stamp on it somewhere as well. Harry

Re: Mg42 does not cycle 8mm but cycles 7.62 (conversion)
Sounds like the same grease I am using, high temp that makes your fingers slippery just looking at it. Unlike the MG34 the MG42 should have a lot of free play to work right. Going out to the range right now to try out two MG34's I just tuned. Harry

Re: Mg42 does not cycle 8mm but cycles 7.62 (conversion)
Not sure if this has been covered but one of the big problems I have found with helping people with the semi-auto 42 is the bolt binding in the rails. I always remove the grip stick and leave the top cover off and install a bolt. It should slide all the way to the barrel without any restriction or s...

Re: MG34 from TNW
The second generation trigger has two rollers instead of one and that extra roller makes a difference in the trigger pull. TNW also made a "S" series receiver that was like a kit. You had to do a lot of work on them to make them work. I have eight of them sitting on my workbench that belong to a fri...
