That's the prussian proof Mark for overload shoot. you will find it on all proofed prussian gun's in ww1 era.

the first Marking 1. M.G.K MG 8. = Gun Nr. 8 of the Companie
is German kind,
the other Markings are not German i think,
never seen this kind of writing on German Stuff.
May bee an Arsenal-Marking after capturing?

you are right, there is no checkering at the grips of the DWM 1917 gun.
I don't have a idea and no any informations about stopp the checkering at DWM's.
I owen also a Spandau 1917, the Grips are checkered.

I presume material is meant to be removed from either the front or rear of the base along the surface that mates to the reciever, thus moving the point of impact left or right??? yes ,100%.... that means the description.... Try to translate the complete description, But ....it's very difficult....n...

Hallo, found this description about adjustment of the ZF12. sorry its German :) on page 13 is descripted what work is to do.... in a view words... large deviation: the correction is to made by bending the scope mount, special tool is required!! small deviation: the windage is to make by filing off...
