Re: Found: 1909 MG08 Spandau and a 1916 sled mount
How is this Capt Max, that is a fine looking MG 08 and the sled mount is even better looking. I have a MG08/15 that I would like to make into a in between the wars version. Problem with all of the Maxims is that they are for young men as they are really too heavy for an old guy like me. I am thinkin...

Re: want sell mg 42 sa build
That is how my TNW MG34's were listed on the ATF form when the came in. Same for the Wiselite M53 that I purchased a few years ago. All long guns as they are semi-auto rifles now. Harry

Re: Semi TNW sear
Maddogs2 That drawling is pretty much the same that TNW uses for their modification. I have shortened the trigger pull somewhat by moving the rear roller to the rear as it is the part that trips the sear in the bolt. I am still playing with one that actually has a longer extension to the trigger bar...

Re: Semi TNW sear
I polished the bottom of the receiver and the top of the pistol grip area where the rollers roll on all of my TNW MG 34's (three) as well as my a couple of the re-welded receivers that were semi-modified exactly like the TNW 34's. I use a very light coat of grease on the surfaces. I have yet to see ...

Re: WTT: MG-34 .308 for PM M1910 Maxim
Thanks for the photographs, I just answered and sent you some photographs. I purchased a warehouse full of German WWII equipment in an auction in Denmark back in the 70's. I had over 1,400 German helmets that I sold, mostly wholesale, to dealers in the early 80's. Still have a few to display with th...

Re: WTT: MG-34 .308 for PM M1910 Maxim
What part of the USA are you located in; what is the condition of the MG34, who made it and what comes with it? If it is an Israeli marked gun, I do not have any interest but if not then I have interest. I have three Israeli marked semi-auto's right now. I have a complete, like new M1910 Maxim with ...

Re: What markings do i put on arter reweld
Sorry for the bad day Frank, I meant that a Police Office saw my MG42 in the rear of my SUV at the shooting range when I had the read door open and asked me if I had the registration form for it. I told him no that it was a semi-auto and showed him the gun. He was satisfied with the semi-auto markin...

Re: want sell mg 42 sa build
Only problem is interstate sales that have to go through a FFL dealer. You will have to find one that will handle a home made gun. Some will not. Harry

Re: What markings do i put on arter reweld
ATF recommends that you put a number on a home build firearm that is for your personal use, it used to be your SSN in case the gun gets stolen. It is a recommendation, not a requirement. You can use the original serial number of the weapon. I have found that it makes life a bit easier when I add the...

Re: Doppel drum holder
Thanks again, do you or anyone else know how to modify the MG15 drums to work on the 34? I thought I had some drums and went looking in the storage boxes and found three of them. I also have one that I got with the top piece. Now I need to find out what to do about relieving the spring pressure and ...

Re: Doppel drum holder
Thanks for the post, I am aware that the MG15 drum is different which is why I noted the MG15 type drum. Do you know of any books or drawings for the cover? I can make a pattern of the covers but the locking latch for the magazine is going to be a hard one to copy without something to use as a guide...

Doppel drum holder
I just picked up a very nice but incomplete top feed cover for the MG34. It is for the MG15 type 75 drum. It is missing some parts such as the latch and the two dust covers (doors). Does anyone know where I can gets parts for it? Reproductions are fine. I just want to mount it on one of my 34's. Tha...

Re: Need a semi MG42 gunsmith
I lube my bolts, both for the 34 and 43 by dipping them in 30 weight engine oil before installing them -- note this only on new unfired guns and for the first 50 to 100 rounds as it makes a real mess. BUT after the gun starts running smooth you clean it up and it runs great. I only use a very little...

Re: Need a semi MG42 gunsmith
Put some Prussian blue on the bolt and run it back and forth a few times to see where it is hanging up. The choice then is do you remove the metal from the bolt or the inside of the receiver. I have a semi-auto MG42 that when I got it the bolt hung up on the left rear. I did the Prussian Blue test a...

MG3/MG42 Double AA mount
Folks, I have a complete postwar German Army (Bundeswehr) twin MG3/MG42 anti-aircraft mount. It is complete with the proper sights, long support runners and ground stakes. It is made to mount two MG3's (the ammo box holders are for the 7.62 NATO boxes but can be widened for the 7.92x57 boxes as they...

Re: MG 42 (MG3) safety button
When in the fire position the cut out allows the trigger sear to engage. When on safe the bar is solid and the sear cannot engage. Harry

Re: MG34 Semi auto bolt jamming
You might want to go to the TNW dual roller as that is one of the reasons why they did, the single roller will sometimes allow the trigger bar to tilt and hit bottom of bolt. Easy modification to add the extra roller. Now if I could get the length of the trigger pull solved. Harry

Just did a Google search for SSD BD38 and there are quite a few pages and LOTS of photographs of the gun plus some information on Canadian ownership. Give it a try, Harry
