Re: Advice needed please!
i retract my weld the bushing last statement. LOL
on the WLA it works really good that way, but evidently it doesnt matter in the long haul.
there is a great picture on the site with every dimension of the barrel shroud labeled and put on it for you. it helped me alot. you may wanna go get it??

Re: Advice needed please!
dont worry about the barrel bushing part until the very end.
get your rear section perfect and matched up to the camming area, then the barrel bushing will pretty much set itself at Pirates length.
you need someone who did the CSS section to help you with the pointers on it.

Re: More MG42 teething problems... (PICS AND VID)
Matt, def looks like you double clutched him there... how much do you have latching on the barrel door? (mines pretty tight when it closes.) do you have any pressure from your recuparator on your barrel when its installed? (mine has a little pressure on it, the barrel has to be pulled out by the bar...

Re: Wise lite rec and my shroud question
Bil, used the "sneak up on it" approach on mine, and then cut it with a set of bolt cutters instead of something that generated heat. this particualr it had zero in the wear dept.. so im guessing it hadnt been used much. yeah its working great! but if someone does actually get a spring that is close...

Re: Coldsteel 80% receiver and 53M kit
first thing i see is that they give you a lot of extra compared with what you get on the WLA towards the camming section. but if you needed the extra because of a bad demill , this may be the way to go. also: yes your gonna have to do ALOT more cutting and grinding on the CSS version. but its less t...

Re: Wise lite rec and my shroud question
ive heard this also... but not from WLA. is it true?? Pirate and me talked about this and mine measured 16" on the money. no extra. a friend of mine building one of these had his measure a little over 16 1/4" but again no where near 5/8. if anyone has one of these thats 16 5/8" let everybody know.

Re: Took my Army recruiter to shoot the 42...
Bil,
PIrate has to answer that. LOL
he did the mods & im guessing that the bolt is his newer version, since the grip is definitely the new version.
all i can tell you is that it fell right in and works perfect.
Matt what type of finish are you gonna go with?

Matt,
yeah im using the V2 FAL version from Pirate with his bolt set up and it really whacks it good. only got to shoot 25 rnds tonite of the Turk stuff, it lit them all.
(for those wondering, Matt and me did some trading a while back on a different build)
pm coming your way Matt..

Re: Took my Army recruiter to shoot the 42...
Matt, good to hear that your shooting it. had to round the corners off of my charging handle to get it to slide real nice. oh and so far with Pirates new V2 grip ive not had a lite primer strike on the Romanian or the Turkish 8mm. it really WHACKS them. get one and see if that doesnt do the cure all...

Re: my receiver is longer than spec. is this a problem?
the WLA are not all exactly the same.... some are just a shade longer than others. mine was just a couple of k's over 16" and another member's was 16 5/8". your overall length is a bit different than mine was too. mine was 37 11/16". not that yours is wrong or mine is, but they all have a little dif...
