Re: New Mainspring: Update

not to ruffle feathers , just make your own springs, its easy you can make a simple hand winder that fits in the vise. i make my own springs on my lathe, just engage the lead screw and away you go. it should'nt be a big problem getting them made, it does'nt take the whole coil line in a plant to do ...

Re: MG34 Cans and Carry Frame

tim g, if my thinking is right the type VII u-boats were using the con mounted railing bracket(much like the driben) holder for the 34 probably not many examples to view, useless your a deep diver. the VII's were small wolf packers and easy prey. the larger IXC u-boats had one 3.7cm AA and after 194...

Re: What do I have here?

you do have quite the mix of things, your rear sections in are all more than likely dot - for sure your 2992 section, it is waffenamt WaA63 which was an inspection mark used by DOT from 41-45, but dont be confused with this as WaA63 turns up on Mauser Werk also. most 1942 on 34's did not have Wa sta...

Re: What do I have here?

ed s that triangle is about half there, it's supposed to be a full triangle with a T in the middle - you can barely see his- the 9 in his year 1942 is consistent with Dot coded 34's being slightly dropped. and i'm with you on that waffenamt the wing have a complete radius at the wing tips plus it's ...

Re: Late pattern barrel jacket

ed s and matt are right when it comes down to the code factors and this variation mismatched to that variation . look at my post under milled top cover- the 34 that was left to me came from the battle field like it is. I wouldn't worry about it unless your looking for the dream 34 everyone is lookin...

Re: milled top cover

my mg34 W/milled top cover is DOT code- 1943, serial #5? throughout,WA stamped twice on cover that are correct. this thing must be an AK-RUH-NIHMS . I've had it for 20 years , a WW2 vet who was a dear friend of mine left it to me, before that it was on display for years in our American Legion Post. ...

Re: cartridge jamming in feed tray

been looking at the trouble shooting , good advice delivered forward but not a good explanation of the ghost problem -- does'nt sound like a feed problem, and not to say it is'nt , you can't call a doctor on the telephone sick and have me tell you whats wrong. if your having light stikes on the prim...

Barrel return assembly

my springs are weakened from being seated over time. do any of you fellows have a source for brand new springs. from now on if the old girl is going to sit idle and no longer than it takes to remove the barrel return assembly it's getting broke down.

Re: Attn: Merry Christmas MGW LLC

i am working on an entirely different concept , and it's not a coil spring which i believe is as out dated as grandmas shoes, it may never work, after making 12 different basic styles it's far from perfect. Insanity is doing the same thing over & over again, but expecting different results. if i eve...

some may not like altering the original design to any weapon , but it was done all the time on the german battle fronts, simple innovations. i build my projects because i can add my own ideals, to me thats what its all about. as far a bolt hold open i had 3 different ideals. i desided on one, the si...
