Re: mg34 build numbers
Brian with BRP sent me a pre offer on a new batch of MG-34 he was going to list on his web site last week. http://www.brpguns.com/mg34preview.htm They mostly where very nice DOT kits. I'm not sure if they are listed on his site yet. Here are the MG42's: http://www.brpguns.com/mg42.htm I have two num...

Re: German Markings on a Yugo M53 kit?
I have also run across this. My last M53 parts set had german markings on the trigger housing and trigger and the rest of the parts where yugo. I came into the states this way. It was covered in cosmoline.

Re: MG 42 bolt lock?
Here are some more pics. Please excuse the rough finish. I like to test fire them before I polish all the weld and put on the finish.

Re: MG 42 bolt lock?
Thanks for the info. I built mine today sort of like this. I welded on a small tab on the ratchet plate infront of the rear stop and a small tab on the charging handle. I just have to pull it back and there it stays. Push the handle forward just a little and SLAM, in goes the next round.

Re: mg42 on gunbroker
Ebay finaily wised up and pulled the auction. Too late I sold it for $400 to some star wars guy. Not bad for a pile of extra parts were no good for a build.

Re: MG 42 bolt lock?
I have searched this site high and low for a good way to hold the bolt open. I am very *?*?confused *?*? as to the best way to do this. I am going to be test firing it this weekend. I then want to get the thing stripped and refinish, but I can't refinish it without a good way to hold the bolt open f...

MG 42 bolt lock?
I am nearing the end of my mg 42 build. Hopefuly the first rounds will be going threw it this weekend. I have built a nice mg 34 that I shoot all the time. My question is: Is there a bolt lock to lock the bolt in the open position? I don't see anything to hold it open. I also cut my main spring toda...

Re: mg42 on gunbroker
You guys like that one. It is all the left over stuff from my MG42 build. Most of the parts are Yugo stuff. The barrel shroud was too short for my wise lite receiver. The grips are the orange yugo and the stock was the old crappy black painted style that I stripped and refinished. The receiver secti...

Re: Wise lite rec and my shroud question
BRP sells a shorter spring for the MG42, Is it OK to use or is it too weak?

Re: Booster Bushing Weld Up Problem
I was going to hit it with a rotory file, but the high spot runs completely around the ID where I welded it on the OD. Thats why I figured reaming would be the best for a nice smooth round ID.

Booster Bushing Weld Up Problem
Hello, Today I ran into a slight problem with my MG42 build. I tacked up the receiver assy and bushing. Everything was nice and straight. I then welded the bushing. The barrel would not slide back and forth. I rechecked everything and it was square. I welded out the rest of the receiver. To make a l...

Re: TNW's light trigger pull conversion kit
Hello, I am new to this message board but not to building. Last year I bought a receiver and semi auto kit from TNW. They also said they would reblue my kit for $150 but it would need to be totally disassembled. So I did it, cut all new pins and sent it all to them. I later found out the lady who to...
