Re: M53 bushing replacement

To give you more information to add to your statement about those parts.........I need to ask if you had a question (?). Otherwise........I would have to ask for a clear photo of those parts that you are talking about, laid out together to see what is going on. I can make guesses........but that wou...

Re: Überschießtafel for the Lafette 34 & 42

bergflak, Great information as always........and in great detail. Now all we need is to locate a good/reliable source for identical replicas (and the different rivets/aluminum and steel types) of the different models for our Lafettes that are missing their plates....... Re: M53 bushing replacement

Difference (?).....Yes. Your statement of just welding in Bushings on a few Barrel-Jackets for re-sale (?).............may not be a good idea......as their location may be off. Again........ ......if the Bushing is located too far rearward, the keys that keep the barrel-bearing oriented for installa...

Re: M53 bushing replacement

I have not seen enough of these Bushing (that I knew for certain were a specific make/model) to know the answer to your question............ ..............but............. You are building an SA42 or registered MG42/MG3/M53.......and unless you are looking for a specific "LOOK".........does it reall...

Re: M53 bushing replacement

First.....you may have to include the MG3 Bushing as you will have to know what the replacement bushing was made for ........ correct (?)......used or new it was either made MG42/MG1/MG3/MG74/M53/?......but I believe that you will find that they will all allow you some latitude/adjustment in Bushing...

Re: Way fast firing MG42

flemgunner, I would think that the longer Barrel-Bearing (being longer) would hold the pressure inside the Booster-cup/"Nozzle" slightly longer as it moves to the rear attached to the front of the barrel.......and not allowing the excess gas-pressure to escape out the vents in Flash-Hider (?)......a...

Re: Way fast firing MG42

flemgunner, Lets go back and start at the beginning with a couple questions......which the answers can help us help you..... 1: 8x57mm or 7.62x51mm/.308 (?).......and who manufactured the ammuntion that was used for this firing (?). 2: Booster-Cup/Nozzle hole-size (?). 3: Long or short Barrel-Bearin...

Re: Mg42 receiver for sale

Yep......the only other item that Global-Machine could do to make these receiver-halves look more like the originals would be to make the "rail-rivet-indentations" on both sides.....and as they appear on the cut/DEMILed MG42 receiver in their photos from Global-Machine's Auctions (shown above). Rega...

Posting a few photos of the Global-Machine receiver-halves so you can see how far they will extend.......let us know if you believe that they are long enough for what you need.

Re: Mg42 receiver for sale

Breakout703, Trayce1911s old ad of about a year ago showed a set of receiver halves from Global of that time period (or earlier). I have posted four (4) of Global-Machine's receiver-halves photos from their GunBrokerAuction......and they appear a little different. Now I have no connection with Globa...

Re: Converting Lafette42 trigger for Lafette 34

The "Block" that the trigger rotates on to install the weapon into the platform, should be in about the same location on the upper platform for both the MG34 and MG42.........so, if you start with a "U" shaped block that you can mount the sheet-metal-trigger on with a pin.......and be able to "space...

WTB: MG42 Barrel-Assemblies & Project SA42.

Looking for several MG42 Barrel-Assemblies in 8x57mm (8mm), and 7.62x51mm (.308). These can be in any of the nummerous forms that become available.......WWII German-marked........post-war Yugo.......Post-War 7.62x51mm (.308).........I'll consider "shot-out-bores" at the right-price, and even some of...

Re: MG34 Training Rounds

czerka, As your MG34 was set up for, and fires 7.62x51mm ammo well, what I am seeing in the photos could possibly be one of a few issues: 1: Almost looks like not enough recoil of the bolt-assembly to get the bolt-head behind the cartridge-base. What do the deformed cartridges look like on the front...

Re: MG42 Bolt Body Issue

When you talk about cartridges "nose-diving" towards the chamber sounds more like the: 1: Cartridge-depressor is bent out of correct "curve".......but: 2: I tend to think it might be more of a recoperator issue where something (piece of dirt/brass/etc. is hanging up the assembly causing the barrel t...

Re: Converting Lafette42 trigger for Lafette 34

You have a couple of options......but what exactly do you want to end up with (?......the ability to just fire full-auto.....or just semi-auto........or both (?). I have to give credit to Bergflak for his photos (below) that I barrowed from his web-page on the different triggers for the MG34 Lafette...

Re: MG42 Bolt Body Issue

As you say that the bolt-carriers were both "Yugo", there is always a possibility that they were bad......but (?) you should check the gun a little closer. You say a built Post-Sample (with receiver alignment still good-?).......what I am looking at is a bolt-head unlocking on one-side earlier than ...
