Re: WTB MG34 feed tray
30Thdiv, Are you looking for a specific type of MG34 Feed-Tray........or just something to convert to fire the shorter 7.62x51mm Blanks (?). As an alternative(s).........try asking the bigger Class-III Dealers such as Bob-Landies at Ohio-Ordnance-Works.........or Bob Naess over at Black-River-Milita...

Re: 308 MG42 Ammo Reloading
Easymoney, The Military usually has their MG Barrel's Chambers reamed a little on the loose side to allow for dirt/powder-fowling during firing of many rounds under unknown conditions. This will usually show up as brass that shows expanded cases in the area just forward of the extractor-groove on th...

Re: 308 MG42 Ammo Reloading
easymoney, Some things that you might want to look at are: 1: SAMMI-Specs. for 7.62x51mm NATO Chambers vs. Commercial .308 Winchester Chambers. I think you will find out that the Military chambers are slightly larger. 2: When "sizing" rifle-brass (especially after being fired in a Military sized cha...

Re: 7.92X57 to 7.62.51 Conversion questions?
Tmiller, The conversion is very simple.........and you may only have to use a 2-pcs. Blank-Barrel-Assembly and try different "restrictors" (dependent on the Blanks that you will be using and the outside temp.) to make an M53 fire 7.62x51mm/.308 Blanks reliably. Have you looked into the "Blank-Adapti...

Re: i am thinking about making a 7.62x54r m53
amafrank, Thank you for the posted information. First.....remembering that MGs have a slightly looser chambering..... The issue that I was having with Clymers 7.62x54R gauge was that "their" gauge was not only about 1" long.....but the "rim" was cut as a standard size rim thickness. When it was drop...

junge, Doing this by "memory".....so bear with me...... I recall that there are a few items to check.....but do not recall exactly which type "nut" is suppose to be at the bottom of the "cup" nor which nut is on the release-pin (inside). Also......something to do with the outside end of the release-...

Re: MG34 Semi auto bolt jamming
When MG34 new Ejector-Pins (part of the Bolt-Assembly) are fitted to a Bolt-Head, they are sometimes required to be trimmed on the end of the pin that makes contact with the Ejector-Plate. This is done due to excess material dragging inside the receiver when a cartridge is mounted in the Bolt-Face.....

Re: MG 42 Build:Headspacing a New barrel?
....remember to torque down the barrel into the barrel-extension and "stake" it at the notch in the Barrel-Extension forward face. If the barrel-extension does not have a "notch", then grind a small notch to stake the barrel to. I don't remember if it was early MG42 barrel-assemblies were not staked...
