Re: 80% builds
looks like i will be doing the 80% build after all, mostly due to limited funds, and my desire to acquire all necessary parts now while they are relatively cheap and available. I am wondering if there is a manual or tutorial online, or one i can purchase in hard copy that will give the specifics of...

Re: 80% builds
I forgot, The 100% receiver is a firearm, however some require machining to produce a final complete receiver. The Wise Lite SA 42 receiver is one of those, it requires welding (to a barrel shroud) and some machining to fit parts. If you read pirate's build you will see that machining to fit parts (...

Re: 80% builds
Basic definitions: 100% is a receiver that the BATF considers a firearm and needs to go through an FFL. 80% is a non-legal term that the BATF does not use. To the BATF it is either a firearm or not . The 80% is a sales term to inform the buyer that the receiver is not considered a firearm by the BAT...

I cut all the way through to the ejection port on mine, if you look at later posts you will see where they used one and did not cut all the way through. I have had no problems with mine and like the look without the welded tabs.

Re: Wise Lite Receiver build Tutorial
I used a Wise Lite Grip and it attached with 2 fingers under the out side edge of the hole in the receiver.

Re: Advice needed please!
And I read on here that the receiver print floating around is not accurate. I received what appears to be a copy of that same print along with my CS receiver blank. Can anyone enlighten me on the accuracy of that print before I use any of the dimensions off it? Some of it is right, is that correct?...

Re: Wise Lite Receiver Rails
Ok, the bolt wasn't any different in width and the rails are flush against the receiver walls, then the metal wall thickness would have to be thicker to matain the outside receiver width or the receiver is narrower. So what happens at the cam? Is it tight against the outside of the receiver (width),...

The 0nly way I can think an extention would work is if it was extended to the REAR,into the buttstock. As I said earlier, there is at least one of us here that has done that, and it works.A lot of work,I am working on the same idea, still in the beginning stages.Hopefully it will work OK. ---bil Did yo...

Re: Coldsteel 80% receiver and 53M kit
Good luck. I believe mine was made at the beginning of production and I know it was before the original dies where ripped-off. I will be interested in seeing the photos. I thought it was intesting that the wiselite receiver required machining to get the parts to fit in the same areas (buffer, cover ...

Re: my receiver is longer than spec. is this a problem?
Shortening the door is little disturbing because it indicates that you changed a dimension in the receiver. The cam locates the proper postion of the barrel and the shorter door indicates that the barrel shroud would be shorter by the 1/16" (0.0625"). I guess you can make up for this by location of ...

Re: Anyone hear from panaceabeachbum lately?
I am using panaceabeachbum bolt assy and it worked the first time without any problems. Very nice machining and well done modification. I got the 8mm loader mod kit from him a couple months ago and it was also nicely done. Pirate's bolt and firing pin designs look good, but at the time I is was read...
