Re: Recoil Nozzle play

According to the manuals, the booster gets screwed on tight, then backed off just enough for the detent lever to drop into the first available slot.

Re: PMs not sending

When the recipient opens the PM, it is removed from your outbox. I sent one to a guy who lost interest in the board and it sat there for 5 years before I deleted it.

As you can see, now that I've read your PM to me, it's gone from your outbox.

Re: My first MG42?

The barrel release lever looks OK, it's the barrel door that looks bowed in the middle.

Re: My first MG42?

There is no bolt extension, so it looks full auto to me. You can see that the barrel door isn't straight. Looks like someone blew the gun, and the barrel door popped open from bending in the middle. You have to take off the door by drilling the rivets, then you can straighten it properly in a press ...

Re: 308 MG42 Ammo Reloading

If a factory round fits, it's not too tight. Like I said about my AR10 - factory fits, but I had to tighten up the dies to make reloads fit.

Re: 308 MG42 Ammo Reloading

First off I'd make sure the chamber is clean. If you need to remove a few thousandths, use a stainless steel bore brush that fits the chamber, and some polishing compound. Spin it on an electric drill. Check frequently. If the factory round fits and your reload doesn't, I wouldn't polish the chamber...

M53 kit with most of the semi-auto parts needed to make semi-auto rifle. The nose of the shroud is prepared for the new nose cone that will have to be welded on. The barrel is a new 7.92x57mm one, it has not been head-spaced to the barrel trunnion. If the buyer would like a VG original M53 barrel ready to use I would swap out. The semi-auto pistol grip is complete with the m16 hammer, HD springs and trigger. No German parts all YUGO. This has to go to an FFL holder as the receiver is numbered and registered.

You can't host pictures on photobucket to link to another place without paying photobucket money. When downloads aren't uploaded to this board, then end up gone when the host pulls a photobucket trick like the above and starts charging for downloads. When hosted on Google drive, they'll last until t...

To anyone unfamiliar with Bergflak, his information is always well researched and his articles are well written. His website is absolutely worth reading if you are interested in the subject matter.

Re: MG34 Jig Rental

2 rules: 1. never loan it. Rent it out with a huge deposit - enough that you don't care if you get it back. At least $100 more than it's worth in time and materials. No deposit, no rental. 30 day time limit or forfeit the deposit (or some such penalty). If they don't return it on time, consider it a...

If it won't post here, I'll upload it to an open directory on my Germanmanuals website and put a link to it here. I don't have upload size limitations on Germanmanuals.com, so not a problem.

Press the submit button ONCE, wait a few seconds. It's a simple concept. There is no need to press it four times.

Yup, not legal for you to do. You'll need to go to Vegas for a weekend with a dremel tool and wire cutters. Make the belt, shoot some full auto while you're there, and go home happy on both counts.

Re: Mg42 on a mg3 tripod

Some guns fit the tripods, some don't. Wiselite receivers which are longer most certainly don't fit right. Your solution will vary depending on what you have and what the problem is. Semi 42's have variable receiver lengths, depending on who made it and how carefully it was kept to original specs.

Re: 10 round belt.

With a belt, the first three links (spaces) are left empty, so that the belt can be hooked onto the little protruding tab on the right side of the feed tray (Fig. 23, page 19 of H.Dv. 241), which keeps the belt from falling out by gravity while you try to get the top cover closed. This spacing align...

Re: Someone to build my mg53

I would have to wonder whether since the receiver has already been welded together, that it's already a firearm, whether it's has the small stuff done to it yet or not. If so, it may be that completing it may not be considered as manufacturing it, since it may be already "manufactured" (li...

Re: The SA42 and 922R regulations????

I would think that each part in the grip, the grip itself, the bolt, and the receiver are all US made, since they are all either new or completely revised to make them work as needed. With the receiver made in the US, do compliance parts even enter the picture?
