Re: Trigger gate on mg34

Below is a photo of an early totally done TNW bolt....Of course, it is the underside of the rear, for you guys that don't have one of these. ..,,,You can clearly see the sloped/beveled edges of the end of the slot that is cut in the bolt carrier.....Without this cut beveled area, the hinged & spring...

That's fascinating....I have watched that video before, but now I'll have a more personal connection to it. ...I have nearly 11 years in Germany, back and forth between Ft.Knox and there over 22 years.....I had taken three trips to the Albert Canal and the great Fortress of Eben Emeal, where 79 FJs ...

Re: DESERT MG42

Amazing, thankyou Siegfried.......... ..My father was in the Army Air Corps for a year, then in late 43, the Army needed more ground divisions, so he found himself at Camp Pickett, Va for training in the 78th Inf Division. His mother, (my grandmother) was a german immigrant, and hated that her son w...

Re: DESERT MG42

Hello Sgt. Schultz.....! Hell, it's hard to tell with that one photo, if paint was used, or if it is nothing more than smeared mud or clay. ..... Strict regulations in the german army, some enforced more than others were enforced right up to the bitter end. Manybe this particular FJ unit, the comman...

Re: DESERT MG42

Could be, but then again both helmets & gun may have dried mud/clay applied......I just can't imagine the FJs being allowed to paint their machine guns.

Re: in the trenches italy 1944

Greg; I remember those. In my opinion, these new 308 blanks are even more dirtier, and leave a lot of unburned powder particles, but are quite loud with a good flame..... .... BTW, DA and my dealer got atf approval, finally, for the 42 transfer, took 9.1/2 weeks.......that was wait number one;..now ...

Greg, the 'pakistani blanks' are 308, made for the military of Pakistan by the Greeks....They Have a headstamp of 'POF' , which is Greek & made in the 90s. .....They are pretty strong, but work best in the 42.....They will cycle in a fa 34, but the powder residue builds up very fast, and begins to g...

Re: Newest Baby

Thanks Greg.....from what the dealers were saying at the MG Shoot at KCR this past weekend, the limited number of ATF 'processors' are handling record numbers of SBRs and suppressor requests, and lastly MG transfers. Delays were increasing up to four months. ........John Baum can give some detail, a...
