Re: blank adapting the mg42/m53/mg1-3
Place two blanks on feed tray & close lid; Charge & fire; First rd. fires then cycles onto the second rd;..If that works, you can eliminate belts as problem. (but still spread the ones with a death grip) ...........Get another recoil spring, & experiment with it.........(don't use the one that is fo...

Re: blank adapting the mg42/m53/mg1-3
I would ask, if it will feed & cycle/fire with just two blanks lying in the fed tray, not linked???......What do the blanks look like then?....If intact, then tight links may contribute to rough feeding. ......Yes, when you find some links that are extremely tight, widen them, I use a snap-ring plie...

Re: blank adapting the mg42/m53/mg1-3
I may have missed it, but shortening the recoil spring may be the answer;>> It will allow the bolt to go to the rear well enough, so it will hit the buffer hard enough to eject the empty case, and will return foward with enough force to go into battery, etc...... .......In Folke's book, he recounts ...

Re: Mauer Banner K98k
There were two "Standard- Modell" s with the 'Mauser Banner....These came out in limited numbers during 32-33 while the Army was deciding what rifle they would adopt. (there were Mauser banner rifles made for export in the early 30s with a multitude of features other than the two 'Standarde Modell"s...

Re: US M73 coaxial tank gun
The M-73 was designed by a lunatic, and could not have been influenced by either the MG-34 or 42. Totally different moving (when it wanted to) parts; maybe the barrel jacket got it's design idea from the MG-34, but that's it. ......In the 60's we had the M-73 on our M-60 tanks in 4th Arm/Div, and af...

Re: Original 2-Piece Blank Barrel & Egyptian Wood Tip Blanks
The couple thousand of Egyptian wood tip blanks that I have used, had too many primers that did not detonate, no matter how hard the primers were hit. That was my main problem with them.

Re: where can i get romanian steel core ammo
Since this new 'panic' which started in mid-december, all ammo prices have shot-sky-high. The Romanian 8mm rose with it all, and was drying up before that. Here at KCR, the tins went from 100, to 156. to over $200. bucks, and is gone now. ..........If you have access to tons of Yugo 8mm, get it now,...

Dan assisted so many of us in the early days of the 42 parts kits. Try the Pakistani 308, it comes in a 250 rd can, and it is all belted in 5ea, MG3/42 belts, with one starter tab.
,,,,The primers are hard, and all the rounds do fire well.
....I think Cheaper han Dirt still has it, for $129. a can.

Re: For Sale MG34 Partial Kit
You're missing the most valuable typical parts, like the bolt, recoil spring, charging handle, the cut up receiver and fittings that go on the receiver.....What remains is far less valuable than $800. Did you already sell off the other parts?

Richard; .............Your two piece blank barrel (I have it set for 308) just never quits!!.......At times, I just have to get out of the way in tactical battles, and spray down your barrel because of over-heating.....It just keeps on running! ....and right now, I still am using the Austrian green ...
