Re: MG42 Rear Sights (Night Sights?)

Yugo made, post war. Common, No. Rare, No. They made Front and Rear night sights. There were pics up, but since photobucket and others did what they did, a lot of pics that were not posted on this site were lost. Thanks for the pics. I'l try to dig out a Front sight and add it's pics to this thread....

Re: What is it?

Winner!! However this trommelhalter was not made by the Germans during the war. It is one of the 2 (as I understand it) groups made post war. It's close but a copy however. I'll take several closeup pics to show you what this copy looks like. I wish that I had an original but this one will have to d...

Re: Weld first or lay out holes

Quick someone pass the Argon. As you know you need Argon to make good strong welds. Remember as they say small area then move to another small area. Don't try to weld up long stretches as distortion happens. Small areas work great.
Good Luck

Re: MG-3 kits ---What do you think ?

Well my thoughts were cut off the front end and then add a m53 front end. But what ever. For myself I have several 3 and 4 cut complete receivers that I need to work on someday.

Re: Weld first or lay out holes

Most of the builds weld the rear halfs together first then plan out and weld the front and rear together then finish out from there.
Several plans that might help

Re: Damage to casing neck after shooting?

Hot Round and no rubber on the front could do that. First add a piece of hose to the the front of the trigger, then see what the brass looks like.

Re: Bolt will not fit

Big Fricking Hammer! Works every time. It seems that lots of times the receiver just somehow somewhere closes just a little bit to much for the bolt to move smoothly. Glad you where able to get it going and had a good range test. Post a few pics some time. We love a little gun porn. Good Luck with i...
