Re: Receiver advice on build type

That was me, except it was a global machine and tool receiver set, not the cold steel solutions. I have no issue at all with the global machine and tool receiver, but I don't have any info on cold steel receivers. The guys at global machine and tool were extremely helpful.

Re: Mg42 receiver for sale

I just want to reiterate that there is nothing wring with Global Machine & Tool receivers. The guys over there gave me a call personally to make sure everything was all good and they were really helpful and pleasant. They offered to refund my money and do anything they could to make it right. The is...

Re: Mg42 receiver for sale

So I took a second look and the new receiver halves have the same radius as the shroud. I was looking at the fitment between the cam section and the new receiver half. I looked at the fitment between the shroud and cam section and there is a gap on both the top and bottom (second pic). I couldn't te...

Re: Mg42 receiver for sale

I thought something looked familiar, I think I already bought these halves LOL. Do these look the same? 20180221_175957.jpg So gunmfg on gunbroker has not responded to my message so I'm assuming there's no getting a refund. So FYI, beware of receiver parts that look like these. If you shroud has the...

Re: Recoil Nozzle play

If it was just crud, it was baked on hard, I let those parts soak in mineral spirits before taking a brass brush to them. Thanks again for answering my question.

Re: Recoil Nozzle play

So the issue was thread erosion. I think the flash hider was just indexed a little different from my bushing and the gases did a number on the exposed threads. It stopped pretty solid so originally I thought it was stopping against a shoulder in the flash hider. After a little inspection I saw that ...

Re: Recoil Nozzle play

I sent a message to BRP (where I bought it) we'll see what they say. RTG has new and used rhinemetal bushings, maybe I should have just gotten those. I didn't see any complaints about BRP parts though. I could put the calipers to it but I haven't seen any dimensional data or drawings for it. Here is...

Re: Recoil Nozzle play

Oak, you asked me if my overall length was correct, what length are you asking about? The length of the bushing? I don't have the aft part of the receiver welded up yet. I was just checking fitment with the bushing and the booster (flash hider) doesn't screw tight against the nozzle and the play see...

Recoil Nozzle play

I finally bought and received my parts kit and I received my new front receiver bushing from BRP. When I screw the flash hider onto the new bushing (with the recoil nozzle) the flash hider bottoms out on the threads before it touches the shoulder and the recoil nozzle is loose. It probably has about...
