MG34 Lafettes for sale Heads up

I just stumbled across this guy on eBay, his seller name is parrotjabber. The market is flooded with MG42 tripods but it's a been a long time since I've even seen an MG34 Lafette for sale. This guy seems to have cornered the market on them, going back through his feedback he's had at least six for s...

Finally found some photos of the original Lafette full/semi trigger paddle I referred to in my first post.

Re: Help please. Gun won't work right.

John, Thanks a million. When I looked at that picture a light bulb went off in my tiny brain. I had put that catch pin (the big round pin with the notch in it directly behind the full auto part of the trigger) in backwards. Another words that big notch was 180 degrees off. It runs like a sewing mach...

Help please. Gun won't work right.

I took my grip stick apart and now the gun will only fire semi auto. I only took the trigger housing parts out and cleaned them and the housing and put them back. I didn't touch the bolt or receiver, both were the same as before when it worked fine. Works as flawless as before, but now semi-auto onl...

Swiss made tripod?

Saw this on Fleabay. While I was looking at it somebody hit the buy it now button, yikes, they have way more disposable income than I do  ! Anyway interesting, I didn't know the Swiss made the Lafette 34 for Germany for one year. http://www.ebay.com/itm/German-WW11-MG34-Switz-Lafette-manufact...

AA mount FYI

Stumbled across this AA mount repro on the web. Ordered one and can vouch for the quality. The only difference I can tell from an original is the cradle is machined from solid stock instead of a casting. Works great. You can adjust the tension on the gun with the bolts just like the original. Goes p...

Re: What's wrong with this picture?

That's it, you win :cheer:

The thing that threw me off is it looks like he's firing it as the empty portion of the belt looks like it's jumping around, but it must be an optical illusion.

Re: MG34 to MG3 Lafette trigger problem need help.

I emailed Iron Creations and they said they don't make that trigger anymore, so I grabbed a hacksaw and somehow by blind luck I came up with a super simple solution that allows the MG34 trigger to clear the MG3 trigger paddle AND have both semi or full auto operation. The critical thing is the dista...

Re: How to Replace MG34 Grip Panels?

I know this is an ancient post, but if you try to slide your grips up you will never get them off. Post should have said if your holding the pistol grip UPSIDE DOWN you slide them up, otherwise slide them down  .

Re: MG34 to MG3 Lafette trigger problem need help.

The MG3 lafette manual says the plate is for deflecting empty shells rearward. It makes no mention for being only for shooting blanks. John, just got your manual in the mail, thanks for the fast shipping. There is a whole page devoted to the plate in question, look at page 38 paragraph 2.1.2.5. It ...

Re: MG34 to MG3 Lafette trigger problem need help.

I would think the bright red plate was used for blank ammo. It appears it acts like a shim to enhance/simulate recoil while using blanks in training. Hence the bright color (as a reminder) that these plates should be removed for combat/live firing. Of course I could be wrong, but why the bright red ...

Re: MG34 to MG3 Lafette trigger problem need help.

That's the same issue that concerned me as I have an AA tripod as well. I am planning on milling a clearance slot down the bottom middle of the adapter so I can install it over the retainer clip. I'll post back if that works.

Re: MG34 to MG3 Lafette trigger problem need help.

Thank you for your reply. Wow, I've never seen that way to do the front adapter before. I went with a much less obtrusive and simple solution that TNW came up with, it's just a little metal block that fits in place of the rear bipod lever. It uses the screw used to hold that spring steel lever. Here...

MG34 to MG3 Lafette trigger problem need help.

I have an MG3 Lafette and an MG34, I got the TNW adapter block for the barrel shroud latch, but was wondering how to modify the trigger lever to be able to switch between the lower portion of the MG34 trigger and the upper portion to have semi and full capability like the original Lafette 34 has. Ha...

I don't know if it's kosher to post for sale stuff here, it's not mine, just posting this in case anyone is looking for one. It's the nicest shape original sling I've ever seen. Anyway here is the link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/302133852733?_t ... EBIDX%3AIT

Re: FOUND - Bakelite butt stock with metal tips

What are the years of manufacture that the metal tipped butt stocks would be correct for? I have a DOT 1941 and always wondered what years the metal tipped were correct for, or is it only certain manufacturer's and certain years that used them?
