Re: something missing?

The guy making the ray guns has several Form 4 MG42's, 34's and aircraft guns. One of his MG42's is in the Myrvang book. He is also acknowledged in the Weaver book "Hitler's Garands."

The mother load of MG34 lafettes

nfapartsandaccys.3813.1.jpg Ohio Ord just had the mother of all sales and I missed it. 4.5v battery use in optics battery box

There was a thread showing how to use the 4.5v batteries in the battery box for mgz sights, etc, in order to illuminate the reticle. I found the thread in but the photos are no long there. Can anyone post the photos again on how to do this?

Thanks

BRP sells their transit boxes for $295. Or just get Reidar to send you an original one

Re: MGz34 vs MGz40 optical sights

Hey Ed S, I really have a hard time understanding why you collect JUST the optics without first owning perhaps one gun and lafette to put them on. You don't collect toilet paper rolls, do ya ? I might have a few rare ones...  Don't be hatin'. :D http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v633...

Re: MGz34 vs MGz40 optical sights

There is another aspect to the "rarity" issue and that is the manufacturers code. If you are looking for any example or mgz or mgz40 sight, then the manufacturer does not matter so sights are easier to find. If you wind up like me and are looking for specific mgz40 codes, then the "rarity" factor in...

Re: MGz34 vs MGz40 optical sights

Another oddity is that mgz sights almost always have the transit cans while mgz40 sights are usually missing the cans. Go figure.

Re: mg34 panzer bipod mount (ground kit)

I saw two panzer mounts at the last Knob Creek and bought both of them: one was original for $350 and the other was a replica for $100. Someone I knew wanted the replica so I sold it to him for what I paid for it. The MG34 for sale with the armoured barrel jacket and ground kit was Ohio Ord.

Re: German Granatbüchse 39

Oh yes, it's an interesting field for collecting. Some years ago I have written a book about German rifle grenades and launchers for a museum, but it's sold out now. Maybe I can do an update one day. Here some pics of foreign launchers and grenades. Hey, I have a copy of that book: red cover and 15...

Re: Panzerschreck pics

Nice Panzerschreck! It's the long version, now you need the short one to have both. Is your trigger mechanism still in full working order? Michael The trigger was a little bent but I straightened it out and it seems to work, but this is the only one I have ever had my hands on so I am not 100 perce...

Panzerschreck pics

I got this several months ago and have tried to improve on it as I could. The inert round was painted some strange color of green so I painted it gray and used my lame skills at stenciling to add the "4322" numbering. I also found a shield as it did not have one when I got it. This shield was ground...
