Lugar & P-38 metal reenactment pistols

Posting for a friend that picked these up. They are made in Japan and look like real guns. They would be good for reenactments if one was playing the German side. He would like to get $300 for the pair. I guess he would split them up and sell each. He has others to sell from 1851 colts, 1858 remingt...

Steel case TULA ammo in .308

Is running steel case ammo in the 42 a bad idea? How hard is the case on the extractor? The only steel case ammo I ever shot was in a Cetme with wolf steel case ammo.
Thanks for the advise

Re: MG3 Heavy Bolt versus MG3 Regular Bolt

I use a heavy bolt which I made from 4140 steel. I wanted to slow down the rate that the bolt moved. In semi you don't need the speed. As far as the bolt beating the buffer to death I can't say. Mine is still working. The stock spring is only half the length. Recoil is still there, yet easy to shoot...

Re: WTS / WTT SA Dagger

noonxnoon, I may not have sold it, but like all of us we could use the ducketts. My Thompson habit is eating at my pocket. I have a 1928a1 semi and a lot of extra parts and want to build a M1. I have the cut up M1 receiver to put together and have enough 28's for two more semis less the receivers. I...

Re: WTS / WTT SA Dagger

noon, I think that ss daggers command more money. Of coarse condition is important. I first saw this dagger when I was 14 years old back in 1961. It wasn't till years later my dad gave it to me. I still have his tear drop style sun glasses he had in the war. They were mad by american optics. Thanks ...

WTS / WTT SA Dagger

I have for sale or trade a WW2 Nazi SA Dagger. This has been in the family for over 60 years. It was removed from a warehouse along with other items and I wound up with the knife some 20 years ago. It is in museum condition and this would make a fine addition to the collector of quality German dagge...

Re: I really screwed up this time...

I had a lot of trouble on a bren weld due to the warpage in the center section. All you have to do is hacksaw through the weld and realign and weld again. This is of coarse on the sheet metal part of the receiver. If your weld screwed up the barrel bearing I would think that you will have to grind o...

Re: Welding 1/2 gaps, some questions.

The 42 receiver is made of mild steel sheetmetal approx .100 thick. Not a good idea to try and heat treat or harden
the receiver. Try and keep the welds from getting to hot and over heating the area around the cuts.
Have fun with your builds. LOL

The bottom has a 1/4" #8 grade bolt pertruding down for the cocking nose, and a ramped slot for the hammer.

Pic of the ejection block with the cocking handle all the way forward.

Angles?????????? What angles. If you are looking for drawings, I did make full detail drawings when I built the bolt. I knew that I might need them one day. I will try and post them on the board. I will have to get the little woman to scan them so I can post. If anyone wants copies or a bolt made PM...

Ratat, The bolt head seems to be hard at the surface??? I used carbide drill bits, but used a grinder to notch the surface flat (level) before the drilling. I drilled through the wedge cam with a two flute carbide bit with no trouble. To the question of the 3/8" welded in block in front of the eject...

Thread size for 42 buffer

I made a new bolt out of a 7/16" harden cap screw. The thread size is 11mmx1.0 pitch. I bought a die, get large size, chuck into a lathe and thread by hand.

WTB 42 GRIP STICK

I am looking to purchase a stripped grip stick or complete grip. I don't care if it is 42 or Yugo. I would like the screws that hold the side panels on. It could also be one that has been cut out for a semi and didn't work out. Please advise.
Thank you
