Re: New to MG42s and have questions
Tons of people have built MG42s and M53s into semi guns, but to do it for someone else requires a manufacturer's license. That leave most people out. It's not a small job to reweld and make it work, so it's past the ability level of most people.

Re: New to MG42s and have questions
If you're not going to bulld it for yourself, you'll need to find someone with a manufacturer's license to do it for you.
www.Lewmanarms.com would be my suggestion. They won't be cheap (nobody is cheap anymore), but they've done some very nice work.

Three are lots of visitors here, but so many find everything they need in the existing message bases, that there aren't many new posts.

U.S. M1 .30 Cal Carbine full blueprints
See the Carbine Blueprints book review at: http://www.thegunmag.com/epic-compilation-of-m1-carbine-data-great-resource/ Larry Ruth (War Baby, War Baby comes home, and other Carbine books) provided all the blueprints and extras contained in this huge volume, and collaborated with me to produce this b...

Just making sure you saw this. If I wanted one and didn't have the time/skills/patience to do it, I'd buy from these guys:

Re: Some photos of mine Semi auto open bolt MG53
The booster is not meant to be used as a gas pressure regulator. Using a nozzle with a larger opening is the standard thing to do. Nozzles come with a variety of sizes of holes, and are selected based on need.

Re: MG42 lubrication
I lightly grease the rails (from front to back) on my 42 with a few pumps from a grease gun, well spread around, and a thin layer on the bolt surfaces that contact the rails. Extreme care not to miss a spot isn't necessary, since the bolt itself spreads it around. I put a squirt or two of oil in the...

Been busy working on other stuff. I'll have to get back to the pictures and extract what I can from the backups. I don't know how I got ANYTHING done when I had a full time job.

Re: Home made mg42 reciever
I'm not a lawyer, and what I think about something is worth exactly what you pay for it (zero). Nowhere in ATFE regulations does it say anything about 80%. That percentage is not listed or defined by ATFE, therefore, there's no exact way to decide what 80% complete actually means. It's a term that i...

A variety of rebuild parts are here, but many are out of stock. You're getting into the game pretty late. Some people on here bought extra parts. Post a want to buy ad.

Re: Receiver Locking cams
The front of the receiver - at the muzzle? The cam that holds the flash hider holding lever and barrel bushing in place? Those are pins with hollow ends. You'll need some help. Put a center punch straight up in a vise, hold the pin in the muzzle on top of the center punch, use another center punch f...
