Locked account
I'm here on behalf of user ID oakrodent He is wondering how to log back in after he closed an email account that was used to log in here at MG42. He said he has been locked out.

Re: Simple bolt hold open
Wow! How did I miss this post. I've been looking for an idea for a bolt hold open and this is a simple yet effective design. It also looks like it belongs there. Great idea!

Re: BRP stampings
I agree with mechwarrior,do your best to keep the 2.20 outside measurement. What ever you end up taking off the buffer to be able to turn it, that will be that much less grabbing the buffer tabs.

Re: Center fire systems parts kit
It is my understanding that this is pretty much a non issue because of the amount of parts that are altered, after which they are no longer considered an import part. You can check this site under 922 topics.

Re: Liberal thinking example:
There is a DR. out there who wrote a book about 10 years ago, can’t remember the name, who came to the conclusion that liberalism is a mental deficiency because it is not based on logic and full of hypocrisy.

Re: Firing Pin Assistance
There are several ways you can go. I do believe a couple of guys here will do a bolt mod for you, how much I don't know. I did a one piece about a month ago. Look up ejector funcution. I posted some pics in that thread.

Re: BRP stampings
I'm making good progress on the receiver. It's welded up,blued, 90% of the cut outs, and rivet holes scribed on the receiver. I should have it milled and drilled today. I do have to take a 4 day break on the project as I need to help the DNR lessen the deer population.

Re: BRP stampings
I must say I was expecting a better fit on the halves. I’m fortunate enough that I have machinery to easily fix these hiccups in the build process. If a guy only has only hand tools available to him this could be a major issue. Although I know of some tool & die makers that have made some amazing th...

Re: BRP stampings
I finally got my BRP rear receiver halves yesterday. I spent the extra 75$ and got the kit with new rails, rivets and buffer tabs. On my stampings I had the same problem as mechwarrior. The top parts of the halves were way too long and the bottom was undersized. First I squared up the seams on the t...

Re: M53 Ammo Question
Hi Keith I am new to the Mg42 and its clones but I have been doing a tremendous amount of reading on it. So take my comments with a grain of salt and verify. It is my understanding that the military Yugo ammo has harder primers than other ammo, thus taking a harder hit necessary to ignite the primme...

Re: Center fire systems parts kit
Thanks for the heads up! I'll let you know which one I get. Last AR I built I ordered a DPMS complete lower kit. When I got it all assembled and did an op check and I could not believe the trigger pull it had! It is no exaggeration to say that it was absolutely the worst trigger I have ever felt. I ...

Re: Receiver rivet dimple
I should have said the plural dies. My thought is to make a female and male die with a piloted center. I would tac weld receiver together, rig every thing, then later cut it apart after the rivet holes were located to use the dies.

Receiver rivet dimple
Can I get someone to give the diameter and depth of the impression for the rail rivets off an original MG42? Thinking about making a die to put them in my BRP receiver. A close up pic would also be nice.

Re: Center fire systems parts kit
For those that are currently building kits and instrested in an AR trigger set up,fcg with spring set at bushmaster $47.90 shipped. Cheaper than dirt was just 5$ more. I'm chomping at the bit to get working on the yugo. Awaiting parts and at a stand still.

Re: My Build, step by step
Hello longwaytofall I and a few others are currently building an M53. mechwarrior is currently building one too. I have posted some pics so far and the feedback I have gotten has been very helpful. I got my kit about 6 weeks ago.I got the bolt done and the fcg all most done. Every thing else is clea...
