Re: barrel and bolt combination...

My experience is that bolt barrel combinations do need to be tested for compatability. I did not consider it important, but when I was having problems with my mg34 semi I tried all different changes, but it only started to work when I changed the barrel! The problem I was having was failure to eject...

replacement of mg34 extractor plunger and spring

I lost my extractor on the bolt of my semi mg34. I would like to know a technique for installing it, it seems to be very difficult. This consists of three parts. Is there a specific tool? Please let me know any tricks you have.

Thank you,
Brian

mg34 barrel question?

I have a barrel with what I believe to be an unusual characteristic, seems to be an extra 2 holes. I checked my other two barrels and Mvrang, and did not see anything that matched. I wanted to know if this was some sort of variation, modification, demilling......? Attached are four photos of the bar...

Re: Tnw Mg34 is it worth the cost?

I hope that nobody decides on a purchase based on only one opinion. It is not my intent to persaude you to purchase or not. My purpose was to provide you with one perspective on the TNW mg. On a positive note the TNW mg34 is a beautiful piece, my complaint is that I was hoping to have it actually fu...

Re: Tnw Mg34 is it worth the cost?

I purchased the semi-auto mg34 approximately 3 years ago from the previous owner out of Atlanta I think it was. It never worked correctly to begin with as the original owner did not want to spend the time to get it to work reliably. It was out of warranty when I received it (they only offer 1 year)....

Re: Tnw Mg34 is it worth the cost?

My opinion is the TNW semi-auto mg34 system that I purchased is seriously flawed. I sent it to TNW for repair and they could not (or would not) fix the gun! Perhaps there are some that function well but from my experience, I seriously regret the purchase. I have spoken to two other owners that have ...

Re: Hot barrel glove(mit)

Thanks for the responses. I suspect it is post war but when I saw this advertisement by the Collectors Guild I was not sure any longer. Here is the link. I really dont know much about The collectors guild reputation, just that his prices are out of this world. http://www.germanmilitaria.com/Heer/17M...

Hot barrel glove(mit)

Here are photos of a hot barrel mit. I do not know if it is postwar or wartime. Were these even used during the war? I thought it was postwar until I saw a vendor stating it was war time. I could not find any markings. I purchased this from a reenactor in Georgia, USA. It does have the smell of oil ...

Re: Out of control?

Well I dont think this is entirely supply and demand. I believe normal supply and demand economics reguires a free market. The real problem is strong government regulation as we all know. These prices are being driven by increased demand as more people seek to purchase these items and the government...

mg34 optics with case

I recently purchased a mg34 scope with case for $1680.00 with shipping. It came from Norway. It has a WaA stamp on the inside lid and what looks like a Norwegian stamp on the inside lid as well. The paint looks like a postwar olive drab? There is a hole on the backside of the case. Any ideas? My gue...

mg34 spare bolt box length

I have three mg34 bolts, one is I believe an original and two more TNW Semi-modified. All of them have the extension on the back and thus do not fit the spare bolt box. According Myrvang a slot was cut to accomodate the lengthened bolts. This was stated in the memos around 1941. This would lead me t...

Here are pictures of my recent ebay purchase for a mg34 lafette spare bolt box. Your opinions are encouraged. I would also be interested in seeing other examples of this items from other collectors out there. I dont know if this is original. The markings are as follows: TWO WaA! Now that seems stran...

Response to Battery box review

I was afraid it had been postwar converted as it did not match any other originals I saw. Thank you for the valuble input. If any one else has any comments please let me know. I feel as though Alleghany Arsenal misrepresented the item. I requested a picture from them before buying and they just sent...
