My TNW mg34 blank fire setup

Hello Richard; Here is the information about my system: TNW mg34 semi-auto 8mm using Swanson blanks. I have tried both blank adapted barrel and restictor cone methods. Yes, I have read the thread regarding blank adapting and the two primary methods. For the restrictor method I use the one piece by G...

mg34 bipod

I just checked my two bipods and after carefully looking them over did find wartime stamps on them. One had a date of 1943, the other no date. So there are wartime bipods without the adjustment screw.

Thanks for the clarification.

mg34 belts

I have another question that has been bothering me for a long time. I have wartime belts and postwar belts. I assume all wartime belts were marked. I have sorted out the wartime belts I have from the postwar belts. When I was having problems with my blank fire I read that some postwar belts do not w...

mg34 Bipod Question

I have two bipods. Neither of them have the adjustment nut between the two folding arms. Are these late war, post war? How does it function correctly without the adjustment nut? This has been puzzling me as I do not recall seeing wartime pics with bipods that do not have the adjustment nut.

mg34 barrels

Pictured below are the three barrels I own. The first two are live fire barrels and the third is a late type blank firing barrel. Note the piece that interacts with the bold is slid out to show it is not directly attached. The blank fire barrel also has threads. The second and third pics shows a clo...

Lafette elevation control

Bil; Thanks for taking the time to post the pictures, they help! I found out how to pull out the elevation control knob (it doesnt move far) and then moved the entire lafette mount up and down as you described. I thought it was kind of strange that it had such a limited elevation. Once I managed to ...

Stuck elevation problem solved

Yes, you were correct. I lubricated the elevation dial well and it works perfectly. No need to pull on it, simply turning it without the 60 year old grease works. I was surprised at how little the lafette mount actualy elevates. It appears it is only for fine adjustments. A large change in elevation...

Laufschutzer 42 and 43

The Laufschutzer 43 had two layers when I received it. An undercoat of the yellow (dunkel gelb?) and a overcoat of dark green. But most of the dark green had been removed. I do not know if the dark green was original. But using acetone I completed the removal of the green which came off leaving the ...

mg34 lafette elevation control

I have been reading a small text on using the lafette mount for the mg34 and it states the knob on the left hand side of the lafette mount is for adjusting the elevation. However, I cannot get mine to turn to adjust the elevation. Does anyone have any ideas or instructions on how to use the elevatio...

Recent Purchase of an mg z34 with carrying case

I just recently purchased an mg z34 optic set with carrying case. The carrying case did not have the brush, cloth or filters. I paid $1600.00 plus $80.00 for shipping. The optics are likely early war as the paint finish is a light green color. The carrying case is a dark green color. I would like to...

Laufschutzer 42

Here are two pictures of my Laufschutzer 42. The only marking is "BK/64". There appears to be two coats of paint, one outer grey-green (or olive) and the inner dark green. The discoloration on the right hand part is tape residue. tomcatshaas, if you are interested in this Laufschutzer 42 contact me ...

mg34 two piece barrel

Since the previous thread was very helpful I wanted to ask another question relating to mg34 barrels. I have three barrels. Two are the single piece and one is the two piece version. I would like to know about the history of the two piece versus one piece barrels. Another thing is my two piece barre...

Laufschutzer 42

Yes, that is the picture. Thank you for the description. My Laufschutzer 43/1 fits my mg34 barrels perfectly. However, the Laufschutzer 42 does not fit my mg34 barrels. I have never measured the barrel lengths of mg34's vs mg42's. Is there a length difference? I am able to put my two piece barrel in...

'Laufschutzer 34' Mg34 barrel carrier identification

I am trying to learn about the mg34 barrel carriers and the various types. I have two, one longer than the other. One has markings that appear wartime, the other has no markings. I would like to know if anyone could provide information about the various types of wartime and postwar single barrel car...

Lafette Straps

I dont know if they are postwar Yugo or not. All I know is they do not match the German WWII versions. I actually received a call from the company and the owner to explain to me that the picture shown is a WWII tripod sling. They were very upset with me that I had written a bad review on a website r...

Mg34 repro lafette slings from IMA

I just wanted to let everyone know about the Mg34 repro lafette slings from IMA. I just recently purchased one and left a review on the IMA website after several emails to the customer service department. The slings themselves are well constructed and while not an exact duplicate should be good enou...
