Re: Early WWII Bakelite Stock release button

Between computer problems and busy I did not post back on the other topic. Thanks for posting the pics. On almost all of the early mg42 wood butt stocks that I have seen they had the ringed bottom. Yugo's seemed to have the flat bottom. That said I don't have any info on the bakelite stock release b...

Re: Receiver advice on build type

Someone just gave up on a build using the cold steel receiver.
I would go with the one that brp sells myself
Or go with the complete m-53 cut one that AA sells. This is the one that I would do if I did not own several 3 or 4 cut German receivers.

Re: Which top cover is less common?

I think that feed back of this type would be great. I tried to start something on different maker marks a while back but it was shot down by a mod, who is not a mod anymore. So it would be great to start going forth with getting data and info on this site. On the top covers, I only own a few MG34 to...

Re: Way fast firing MG42

That's a Texas fast all right 180 rounds per minute. Wow.
If I remember my reading. Speed is also factor of how "Hot" the ammo is. So how "hot" is that ammo.Smoking Hot or what????

More Later when I get another break at work.

Re: Converting Lafette42 trigger for Lafette 34

The parts that you seek have been up for sale on this site and do show up on both evil bay and gunbroker.
Some of the last MG34 lafettes have fcg's that look like the MG42 lafette fcg.

Re: MG42 Ammunition Types on Panzers

Interesting Question. Also Welcome to the site. As both MG34's and MG42's used the same ammo belts etc the answer should be the same. I believe that the Panzer's used MG34's. Answer don't know but when I get to work on Monday I'll look in the Tiger manual that John translated and see if the answer i...

Re: Review of John Baum's German Manuals

Has anyone read his translation of the German Tiger Tank manual???? OUTSTANDING WORK!!!! I've had Sherman tank folks buy that manual. John did an outstanding job on it. The submarine manual is great also. Seen the one on the German flak 88???? Another standing manual translation. Well go to his webs...
