Re: MG.13 saddle drum

We had quite a few 13's here on the Island during the German Occupation, and yet this is the only saddle drum I have ever come across. Not even ones in relic condition have appeared in the old German tunnels where all the small kit was dumped and sealed up for years.

Re: Mg.15 armourers training saddle drum

Hi Tom, Thanks for your reply. Like 99% of my collection it is packed away in a box stored in the attic where it has been for I guess 5 years now since I moved house awaiting the building of my collectors room and gun room. As this still seems a long way off my kit is destined to sit in the boxes ti...

Mg.15 armourers training saddle drum

Here's a few pictures of a Mg.15 saddle drum used as a training aid. I guess its a tad rarer that the all singing and dancing actual useable saddle drum mag. Has anyone seen or know of such a saddle drum? I would be curious to see if there is any info on this saddle drum out there and to know what i...

Attachment for the flare pistol.

Hi Guy's have any of you got any photo's of one of these in use or details of its exact use. Again, found in a box whilst looking for other bits and pieces. It's great when you forget you actually had something because when you find again it it's just like the first time you got it.

Hi,
No unfortunately not.... don't forget we were Occupied and as such supposed to learn to speak and read German. They tried to teach it in the schools but it didn't work.

Artillery/sharp shooting in Jersey, Channel Islands.

Here's something some of you guy's may not have seen before. This is an edition of "Deutsche Inzelzeitung" which was printed here in Jersey, Channel Islands on the 11th of March 1942. It was a German/English daily newspaper for the British Channel Islands. I decided to submit it to the forum for no ...

Re: German re-enactment group in Jersey, Channel Islands.

I guess the simple answer to why "ss"", if there needs to be one? Is that it was a matter of choice for the filming on the day. We can turn out in ordinary German infantry kit when we need to, as we did for the latest Channel Island Occupation 3 part documentary done by John Nettles (Aka, Bergerac) ...

Gauge problem solved.

In a recent thread I attached some pictures of what I believed to be a german gauge for a piece of artillery. Now with the help of the internet and a friend in New Zealand who asked a friend in Finland we have an answer. Thank you Reino for the photo, it makes it so much clearer. The piece I was uns...

The Channel Islands Military Museum, Jersey.

I am going to post a number of pictures of the Channel Islands Military Museum, St.Ouen, Jersey. The museum is housed in a former 10.5cm bunker which forms part of Hitler's Atlantic Wall defences. The bunker is actually built into the sea wall and is right on the spot where it would have happened if...

This was quite a shot to get, us dressed as Germans outside Government house here in Jersey. This is the residence of the the Lieutenant Governor of the Island who is the Queen's representative on the Island. Needless to say we took this early one Sunday morning.

German re-enactment group in Jersey, Channel Islands.

Here in Jersey, Channel Islands we have a group of guys who are into re-enacting in a small way. As we live on Island 9 miles by 5 that was Occupied for 5 years by the Germans we have to be a bit careful with what we do and when in German uniform. Our group leader has acquired a small bit of land wh...

Some sort of gauge?

Here is some sort of gauge, again I have no idea what it is. The maker mark appears to be "fuc" over a "w". The waffenampt stamp has WaA205 under it. I have 2 of these by the same maker the only difference being the waffenampt, both are WaA205, but the other has the number 5 directly under the left ...
