Hello BG!
Yes, I have indeed been searching for a nice MGZ40 for years. No luck so far.
Nope, I'm not building or expanding a collection. I'm just trying to find one nice example.
Thanks for the ebay tip. I'll have a look....
...and I'll try checking in here more often

Hey Gang! It's been some time since I last checked in. Things have changed a bit around here. I'm looking for a working MGZ40 for my Lafette. Good, clear glass. Adjustments that work. Leveling vials intact. Storage can. You get the picture. Please post here or message me if you think you've got some...

Re: WTB MG42 Barrel 7.62 X 51
Seeking new and chromed barrels designed for 7.62 NATO. Thanks Since APEX already has the MG42/M53 barrels manufactured in 8MM I am planning on having a run of 100 barrels done in 7.62X51 NATO, these will also be chrome lined and blued. BUT, expect to have a wait! My usual delivery time runs about ...

Re: Replacement booster cones
The board member who might be manufacturing the boosters - TactAdv - plans to offer one size that can be drilled out to the desired size. His plans are for a 10mm orifice.
So charge up the batteries on your Makita and make sure you've got some good drill bits

Re: Replacement booster cones
OK, sounds good!
If the price winds up in the $15-18 range I will indeed take 8 MG42 boosters...each with a 10mm hole

Re: Replacement booster cones
LOL - Ok, I get the 'SWAG' thing now. I still don't get your pricing though. I had a molar yanked out today & I just popped two more pain killers, so maybe it's me, but this phrase doesn't make sense: "I will probably need of each type for those prices..." Are there some words missing from that phra...

Re: Replacement booster cones
Any early rough order of magnatiude cost you see on a set of 4 cones? SWAG?....$15.00-18.00 each, w/Q20 ordered total.....+/-.....alloy steel, parked. CrO2 would add a few bux. -TomH TomH, does that mean that if you get orders for at least 20 sets (4 boosters to a set), that you will sell each boos...

Lima - you still out there? Please check your PM's.
Also, could you tell us how this grip has been working for you?
Can you tell us about the bolt and bolt carrier mods you made?

DD's are a nogo in my neck of the woods
I suppose I'll wind up with a de-mil eventually...unless someone comes up with a nice repro.

Aren't they classed as a destructive device? Or is it the rocket itself that is a DD?

Re: Trivia! What is this Flash Hider and why is it special?
bleh ... it wasn't me. I have one of Fab's repro flash hiders, but I am still looking for a nice soaking can. That blemish on the side of the lid turned me off - especially at more than 250 bucks... Ain't it funny how something as big and complicated as a really nice kit goes for $800~1000 and that ...

Re: Trivia! What is this Flash Hider and why is it special?
LOL - ok, what do you want to call it? An MG39? I'll find the pic, scan it & post it here. Cool? IIRC, the photo only shows the barrel jacket forward of the rear sight, so it may very well be an MG42...
Stanby ... I'll find the photo ...

Re: Trivia! What is this Flash Hider and why is it special?
Just the other day I ran across a photo of an Waffen SS trooper. His MG42 is clearly fitted with one of these flash hiders.
About the auction ... dang - I want that soaking can!! The top is a little rough looking though. There are two accessories that I still need - a soaking can is one...
