I found a 1st model barrel bearing (only fits with the 1st model barrel)
the normal pattent is on the left, the early one is on the right

10mm on the very early MG42 (before august 42)
then 11.5mm to 13/14mm at the end of war.
I heard after WWII 8mm MGs used from 13mm to 14mm booster nozzles.

the factory "cpg" made this kind of trommel in 44, markings are 'cpg 4'


it the only one factory to have made this kind of trommel.
perhaps a waffenmeister used parts form a 'cpg4' destroyed trommel to repair another trommel...
