Maybe I should try adding a bit of metal to the rear of the ejector? I checked everything out last night and made sure everything was running smooth. I had a few parts that were binding in few spots, especially with the new made stuff. I also redid the half assed feed stud rat trap I was using on my...

Ive swaped everything out except the feed mech parts. But these are all from a NOS mg3 top cover so Im doubting its a parts wear issue there (I had thought that might be the problem. I'll have to check and see if the feed stud is binding any where. There is no easy way to make it pivot since the FP ...

ejection issues - Updated page 2 with the problem solved
Well, I went out this afternoon after redo'ing some of my original parts - general cleanup stuff and I had to test some grip sticks for few other builds and new bolt. Any way after a generous application of lube I got down to testing components - a few hitchs but easyly fixed. Ran thru 2 belts rapid...

You have build up the 'hump' on the cover that used to get hit by the bolt. Its tricky since youre dealing with pretty thin sheet metal that has a little spring under the hump. Take the spring and plunger out, build it up with weld and redrill as necessary. mine works as its supposed to but it took ...

Another area to look at is your grip stick.... If the hammer/trigger pin holes are over sized, there may be enough space/slop for the hammer to skip over/bounce out of its engagement with the sear. If the holes were drilled with standard sized bits - be careful and the originals were/are metric. I s...

gunslinger isn't there some pics of your gun blown up somewhere here, as apposed to Tom R's bulged barrel door under similar AOB explosions. . Really I'd to see them. Im sure a search of my posts would fail to find any blown up receiver pics. Im embarrassed to say that yes Ive had more than one Out...

I asked this question several mos. ago and was told TIG was the only way. This was followed by lots of guys buying a Cheapo tig which lacks the main feature of TIG welders to give it an advantage - a foot pedal to control your current as you weld. Both a MIG and a TIG use a shielding gas - very supp...

And so the internet gun board BS starts....
I read the recent locked thread relating to the Alum FAL FCG grip stick and frankly I was disappointed. Having been involved with the design on a new FCG system at its beginning here, I think its funny how anyone can claim ownership of it. It was an effort of many people, countless emails and phone ...

Im with Rhino. I think the FAL or AR grip stick counts as a US made part. The receiver certainly counts. And a 3 piece US made FCG whether FAL or AR makes another 3 parts. The way the bolt extension is modified it should count as well - personally, I view it like a bolt carrier, eg. Ak bolt carrier,...

Sometimes you have to mess with both shortening the Stock FP (I think I removed about 1/8 inch from the rear of mine) AND/OR the spring youre using to hold the FP extension rearward. I found the A. springs weaken over time and B. it seems critical that the spring only allow the extension to protrude...

I had similar episode when I had a case neck seperation and the following round stopped prior to being totally chambered. My mig welds held fine though - :D . It will certainly scare the (Try a different word.) out of you. The other area watch for is if your hammer follows the bolt. Either because f...
