Is this a WWII bolt?

Heres a pic of the bolt in my last kit from Dan the Man. The stud has a faint Waffen mark, but I wa wondering if its an amalgamation of parts -pre and post or all WWII. That and Ive decided Im tired of Tom's "this thread needs pics" so I thought I's take several to update some previous posts.... :D

top cover pics, 8mm vs 308 and an armory repair

First pic is of my top cover as received from DAN - its a 308 cover with cof parts and brazed on lever.

Second pic is a side by side of my 308 cover and a new WWII 8mm cover from Brian at BRP (great guy by the way)

8mm on top 308 on the bottom

Only 7 days to get a 'real' answer! Up wit geatoe gats! Maybe not.. I think I'll go with Dan's suggestion - black. Maybe a few airbushed flames or skulls would look good. I did once paint "Front Towards Enemy" on a M1A match rifle stock....Hummm. Something cool in KG coat, maybe a chopper theme - Im...

Nick, All the swiss maxim loaders Ive seen have been modified to load metal belts. Yours looks like it still has the 'belt opening rod' to open cloth belts. Did you find it this way or did you do this mod? $99 +$70 shipping is still a good deal. I paid $350 for mine from Poland. Do you still have a ...

I have ordered from AA before and have had a few missing parts. While Greg may not come across as the niciest guy, he always made it right. I also find that NEVER pissing off the folks that answer the phones (I know this can be VERY tough if they're not gun savvy) really helps. Afterall these are th...

We just ordered 20 cases of Romy from century and 4 cases of Yugo. Cant beat the price with the shipping included. Southern ammo has nice 308. About 75% was Izzy or TZ (lake city I was told) and is boxer primed. The FN headstamped stuff is berdan so if you reload sort carefully....With shipping it c...

Wanna really be excited about your 34 barrel? Take some carb cleaner a few disposable rags. Spray and wipe - voilla, beauty! The first Izzy 34 barrel I unpacked I thought was crap until I used some b-12 carb cleaner on it. I ordered 2 more 20 minutes later. They're awesome for shooting and you can '...

Must 1919 8mm barrels were made by converting 8mm MG-34 barrels. At least that's what Ive been told by a few guys Ive asked that make them for the 1919. So next time you wonder where all those nice new/excellent chrome lined IZZY barrel you wanted for your 34 remember it may be in your 1919! Actuall...

with free shipping century was a much better deal for me than IO or Aim (who always seem to rape me on shipping charges).

20 cases of Romy and 10 cases of yugo are on the way!

Im willing to take pics of the stuff I have but I know there are others with lots more pics, info and stuff. I dont think I have enough of anything to make a decent pictorial. Aluminium butt stocks - update with a pic post sand blast

I just sand blasted the one I got from DAN last night (its cool!) but what's the scoop on these things?

Im debating KG coating it OD to torment those looking for a green MG3 stock, , but that will have to wait.

Anybody know their history?

stickies or FAQ topics

I thought of a few frequently asked topics that might be helpful: A. a belt loader tutorial and eventually a 308 mod'ed to 8mm section (yes Tom got me thinking about and playing with my loader at 2 am). I willing to do a pic tutorial if I had some kind of manual I could incorporate with the pics. EG...

Lou was just the guy I had in mind - he makes a great crank (cut my frst tree down with one!) and we've worked on some stuff together in the past. Currently we're playing with linkers and belt loaders. I will tell you that Lou is VERY busy with the 1919 stuff. His crank could be easily adapted, but ...

Now what's even weirder is my top cover is marked cof (to me this means its a WWII top cover) but one of the feed pawls (I think that's what it is) has an extension brazed on. So Im guessing its a WWII top cover that's been modified for .308....? Since I plan on shooting 308 and 8mm (yes I love a ch...

assault drums

I have a couple of post war drums (actually WWII vintage but uglier paint) that I was playing with last night. You see my 42 kit from Dan arrived Friday. The feedtray has a 308 cartrigde block installed and it has the wings that look just right to hold a drum, but they're spaced a bit too close. I c...

Funny you should mention tree cutting... Over lunch my partner in crime and I were discussing how we'd go about setting up a crank for the 34 and impending 42's. This of course led us trying to decide who's wife/GF will be least pissed about having 15-20K of 8mm delivered. I removed myself from cons...
