so what holds the sight in, a clip? I think I can make the base from tubing and a piece of flat bar stock and weld it together. But I have no idea what holds it in. Anybody?

so does having the rail guides in the bolt extention help keep the bolt from canting down in movment? Seems to make sense since your adding length and weight to the bolt.

Thanks for the insight all. Also, how exactly does the trunnion (or cam) mount to the receiver? From the pics I see, it is inbetween the front and rear halves but what holds this together?

Nevermind, I see now that it fits around the camming section of the receiver

what if you took the flash cone off the muzzle end and pushed the barrel back into the receiver? just a thought....

Why does the new style have the reinforcing bumps cut in half, but all the pics I see of complete MG53's have full reinforcing bumps? Or am I missing something?

O.k. so if the MG42 series isn't a "firearm" or "crew fed weapon", and it falls in to needing a certain amount of U.S. parts to be compliant. Where can we see a BATFE parts breakdown of this weapon to determine which parts need or can be made or bought to bring it into compliance. And why doesn't it...

So why the $100 difference? I'll call both to check. Thanks
