Re: MG42 A.A. Tripod
Not sure without calling I.O., but I received the tripod from keep shooting.com in 2 days. 2 day shipping for about 12 bucks! It is unissued in the wrap and comes with carry strap. I can't say for all of them, but the one I received was NIB. Very happy with them.

Re: MG42 A.A. Tripod
Found a place that has some left! They're the MG3 type, good to very good condition and I didn't have to order it across the ocean. $150+shipping.

MG42 A.A. Tripod
O.K....who bought up all the A.A. tripods! I.O. still advertising them, so I call to order one and they're out. Lady says she doesn't know if they'll even get any more in. O.K., I call RTG,...same answer. I call another place and still the same answer! It's funny how gun parts go, one minute we have...

Re: New wise lite receivers
From what I've seen (and that ain't much), WLA has stepped up to the plate and hit a home run. Though I'd like to, I just don't have the time to wittle out a receiver section from a bare shell. Prices are only going to go up, if you haven't already noticed, on everything. And yes, I too would have ...

Anyone ever use the heat sink putty you can buy from Eastwood or other welding suppliers? Use it, and the copper backer plate and that should work great.

Question on M53 parts kit receivers
What happened to the rest of the receiver pieces???? I was chatting with my Dad today (BTW happy Fathers Day to all Dads) about kit building and guns in general. He asked me an inquiring question...."Why do the M53 kits only come with the front receiver shell if the German ones came with all the scr...

Re: NEW Mainspring any interest?
I'd be in for (4) . could you tell me what the spring demensions would be? And what bolt length you are using? Just so we are on the same page. Spring length, compressed length, and spring lbs. Is it a double wire or single wire? What bolt extension are you using this with (there are a few out there...

Re: Wiselite or BRP receiver sections ?
Last time I talked to BRP (about a month ago), they said that they are finishing up their subgun lines before any effort is made to the 42 receivers. Which is very understandable in a business sense. No problem here. He also stated that the 42 receivers are a lengthy process and give them time for a...

From what I hear, you need the one with the dog leg. Which I'm led to believe is the new style.

Re: mainspring help
I see the problem with a second spring being where would you put it? The ejector button on the rear of the bolt has to hit the buffer head to eject the shell, so there's no room on the inside of the recoil spring.. There isn't enough room on the outside of the spring - so I don't see where it could...

Re: mainspring help
Has anyone tried using a double spring set up? A smaller dia. spring inside the orig. to help take up the lost coils and aid in moving the extra weight. I'm just talking out loud, I've just begun looking into this build. Maybe getting a beefier main spring built to specs by a spring company.
