Re: Is my semi MG42 supposed to be making this noise?

Everything looks fine, everything moves freely. Ill take another look again tonight.

I dont see what all could have shifted from a simple disassembly, but stranger things have happened.

Is my semi MG42 supposed to be making this noise?

Hola amigos, its been a LONG time since Ive posted here. I built my MG42 almost 10 years ago and it doesnt get much use. The other day I took it apart to touch up some bluing on the receiver. When I put it back together the bbl gate was a little harder to close than I remember. (It now takes a firm ...

Re: What's wrong with this picture?

So we have concluded that the picture is staged. Thats fine, Ive done it and so have my Soldiers, countless times. (You should see the support guys when they get a chance to sit behind a M2 or a Mk19) But....my question is......is this picture really from the WWII era, or a very well done recreation...

Re: What's wrong with this picture?

The belt is rolled over on itself. Kind of forms a loop. Is this an authentic photo? The receiver looks nice and dark, the BBL jacket looks totally worn.....just like my Izzy kit. (I duracoated the receiver to cover the welding and left the jacket bare) Those 2 guys just dont look authentic. Maybe I...

What size rivets for charging handle? PS- YOU MISS ME!??

Gents, I have a friend (I live in NY.....) whose MG34 needs a replacement charging stud. Ive located the part (RTG) but have no idea where to source the rivets. Any suggestions or ideas? Im not interested in the BRP threaded model.. my friends gun, is boogered enough and I dont want to add any more ...

Wolf...every one of us here, just for a millisecond, considered a way to buy that thing and not get caught....thanks for taking it down and removing the temptation. I hope you have some luck selling it elsewhere.

Re: A whole, never been cut MG34 receiver + a lot of MG34 F/

Wolf, Im sure others are going to chime in here but that receiver is a %100 no-go here in the states. It is still considered a machine gun and subject to all the ATF regs that goes along with it...and I dont know of a way you could even legally import it either. However, if you cut that thing in hal...

Re: WTS:Midwest Metals Semi-auto MG13

That is an awesome, one of a kind gun. There is a niche for it. Someone will pay your asking price, eventually. You may have to dicker a bit, but it will sell. Just keep it up for sale, keep advertising it, eventually it will find a new home. I swear if I didnt just dump my meager life savings into ...

Re: WTS: S/A MG42

Can I ask a question? You said on GB that this is a non cut, non welded, (and Im assuming) original receiver. How is that possible?

Im not trying to be a dick, Im just wondering if there is a build option out there Im not aware of.

How is your trigger pull? Did you do any mods to the basic TNW fcg to get it running?
Regarrds,
mgfun
Trigger pull sucks. You need both fingers to make it go boom. I really cant believe after all this time that no one has come up with a better semi design.

MG34 Range report. Its been a while. 8*)

After getting seriously fed up with all the sear issues I had with my 34, I put her on the shelf and havnt touched her in about a year. Last time I took her out I did some mods and swore that if it didnt work, I was going to cut it up and sell it as the pitted, crusty POS she really is. Well, Im hap...

Another top review for this product. If you are rewelding a receiver, you WILL need one of these sears. Chris makes the best out there.

SO I was looking at this ANCIENT post and I HAD to chime in. Those pictures (as stated previously) are from Vietnam just after the war ended. Anybody who thinks that piles of weapons from 30 years ago, left out in the open jungle climate, in a country where they melt scrap metal for a living.....wel...

Re: WTK Price of my MG34 parts kit

The kit, depending on condition, markings etc could vary from 700-1400. The receiver, depending on WHERE the cuts are, may be your gold mine. If the front section is intact up till about one inch behind the stud, you've got a 2-400 dollar cut receiver. If its been gut thru the stud, its a paperweigh...

Re: mg34 semi auto build

At the risk of sounding like an azzhole, you sound like you are new to this. IF you are interested in the legalities of building a gun, may I suggest you start out small, like sporterizing and such. A MG34 is a HUGE undertaking and legalities should be the least of your concerns. But here in a nutsh...
