Re: Set screw fixed trigger slap...TILL I BROKE IT!

This bolt/trigger clearance issue has been a problem from day one. No feeding or extraction issues, no other problems, but the trigger group has been hell. Ive ground the bolt, ground the hammer, ground the bolt, the hammer, the bolt, the hammer, the bolt, etc.....I never thought to shim the trigger...

Re: Set screw fixed trigger slap...TILL I BROKE IT!

I have ground so much off the bolt and hammer that Im afraid to go any further. How much do I have to take off? As it is, Ive already removed the entire raised face of the hammer.....how much can I take off until it doesnt have enough driving mass to pop the primers?

Set screw fixed trigger slap...TILL I BROKE IT!

I braved the 15 degree weather today and took the 42 out to the range....quick trip, belt of 40 rounds (and 2 other guns). So there I was chugging along, all happy that my set screw idea fixed my horrendous trigger slap. Wow, this is fun....then she stop resetting the hammer. After several hand char...

Re: Bipod locking direction?

Is there any way to adjust how much free play the bipod has? Mine leans forward and backward just enough to be annoying. Id like to limit the travel a bit. I looked at the assy and its full of half washers and pins and stuff. If its anything like all other over engineered Germn gear, there HAS to be...

I went with the set screw under the front of the tigger. Once I get the new parts Ill get her all set up for a nice break point and loctite the screw in. Ill let you know how it works.

Re: OMG it works! Flawlessly! I think I just peed a little!

Thag say your method too difficult for Infantry guy. IM gonna go with the trigger limit screw for now, if that doesnt work then Ill just tape some foam on the trigger! :D

Re: OMG it works! Flawlessly! I think I just peed a little!

Hey Tomcat, Ive given it some thought, and Im gonna try a small set screw UNDER the trigger, up front. (below where it sets on the sear) I think this will be the simplest and least invasive idea. Thanks for the input. Man I love this gun!

Well, none of it matters till my new hammer and disconnect get here this week. Lesson learned. You should have seen the looks on my parents faces when they walked into my gun room and saw the 42 sitting on the tripod.....bawoohahahaha!

Re: OMG it works! Flawlessly! I think I just peed a little!

If I understand correctly I need to limit the travel of the trigger, in ways of how far you can pull the trigger back? So a stop or dowel above the rear of the trigger will work? Ive looked at it all night and it seems to make sense... BTW I ordered parts from Sherluk marketing...they always seem to...

Re: OMG it works! Flawlessly! I think I just peed a little!

I took a good look at it tonight. When the bolt comes back and resets the trigger, the disconnector is pushing against the trigger real hard. I ground the bolt, and I ground the bottom of the disconnestor part that sits in trigger. It was still hitting so I ground a bit off the disconnector notch on...

Re: OMG it works! Flawlessly! I think I just peed a little!

Im sure I need to grind more off the bottome off my bolt. My rails are VERY low, as evidenced by the fact that I had to grind the hell out of the outside of the recouperator to get it to fit in the channel. I just didnt want to admit that to anybody yet

Re: OMG it works! Flawlessly! I think I just peed a little!

Well I had a hell of a time with the bolt/hammer clearance issue. I ground darn near half the hammer off and even had to take off some material on top of the disconector. I dont know If I should take more off the bolt or keep working the hammer/disconnector issue. A little tinkering will fix it, but...

Re: OMG it works! Flawlessly! I think I just peed a little!

My ONLY complaint is the trigger slap that the AR trigger group has. My finger felt like it was broken after 2-3 rounds. Is this common? Any cures other than foam and duct tape?

OMG it works! Flawlessly! I think I just peed a little!

After 10 months of painstaking work and budgeting, I finally took the 42 out to the range today. I set her up on the tripod and loaded one round. Tied a string to the trigger bar, stood back and pulled.......BANG! OK, lets try two. BANG BANG. Cycling was perfect. Now Five......all good. Now ten........
