Re: Got my kit today. The good, bad and the UGLY
So Im still looking at my options for reweld. Ive found a guy who welds professionally, but I need a jig. Pirate seems to be out of them. Anybody got a '34 welding jig for rent or sale?

Re: Got my kit today. The good, bad and the UGLY
I may need a filler section, Ill let Pirate decide when he gets it. Im sure I will, but maybe he has some scraps laying around he can use before I go buying one. Feed tray is almost perforated in places. Thats the least of my worries.....I just wanna get her started. I need to get this thing weleded...

Got my kit today. The good, bad and the UGLY
My '34 kit came in today and I thought Id share my findings. The good- BBL condition is very good, maybe one or two visible pits, maybe just dirt. Overall bright and shiny. The receiver sections all seem to mate up well with only one small area where the gap appears more that about 1/8th of an inch....

Re: OK boys, where do I start?
No worries about shop teachers or local gunsmiths here. My local BOCES is full of liberals and there isnt a gunsmith within a hundred miles of me, nonetheless one who can weld a receiver together. You guys are right, Im not going to try and weld her up myself. I should have my kit by next Tuesday so...

Re: OK boys, where do I start?
Scott, if you plan on doing the bolt mods with a drill & dremel, save yourself a lot of grief and sell the kit. it is hard as glass and it is a precision part that needs to be done in a mill and lathe. the 34 is not forgiving like the 42. if you are planning on slapping it together you will only ru...

Re: BTT on MG34 922R compliance.
And where may I find a good breakdown of the TNW design? Look, Im just trying to get this project started and I have only found Pirates receiver reweld, his bolt mod, and how to add the trigger rollers. Any pics of the actual assembled trigger and such? I want to see how it all 'comes together'. The...

Re: BTT on MG34 922R compliance.
Marstar wont sell to you? What the hell is that about? Come to think about it, those clowns never returned my email about some Bren parts.....Im gonna boycott them. Ill show em! Ill spend my 35 USD elsewhere! Yeah, Im one of the few guys who seems to care about 922 compliance. Especially with a gun ...

BTT on MG34 922R compliance.
Bump to top again on '34 922R compliance. I posted this very same question about MG42's almost 2 years ago and was told...not required, yes it is, no its not, yes, no, yes, no..... So here I go again. Does the '34 fall under 922R compliance? If so, I dont see a whole lot of US parts going in...

Re: OK boys, where do I start?
Sorry to keep adding to my own post, but I cant find the edit option.
Anyways, I hate to bring this up again........is this weapon subject to 922 compliance, and if so, how are we doing it?
(wow, almost an exact duplicate of my post about 2 years ago.......)

Re: OK boys, where do I start?
I went to Pirate site today and other than his brief tutorial on the bolt, I didt see and couldnt open the 'Emachine' direction. Does anybody have a link that I can see just what bolt and trigger mods need to be done? Im pretty crafty with a dremel and want to do as much as I can by myself. (Not onl...

Re: OK boys, where do I start?
Ive worked with Pirate several times before. He's a good guy. 600 bucks for a reweld? Doh! But then again back when people wanted 4-500 to weld up a '42 receiver, I complained. (Then I welded my 42 and realized what a chore it was and swore 'If I had to do it all over again, Id pay someone to weld i...

OK boys, where do I start?
Well after a 1919, a MG42, and a Bren, I emptied out my savings acount on a MG34 kit. Trust me, the price was unreal.......750 for the whole kit AND receiver. By the looks of the pics, the receiver lines right up. I should be getting it by the end of next week. My plan is to dummy up the receiver wi...

Re: Now a REALLY stupid question
Hey, I mistakenly sent somebody a MG34 parts kit last week. If you happen to find one laying around, please send it back to me. (but seriously, I just sold a bunch of stuff on 1919A4, and for the life of me I had the hardest time remembering who to send the stuff too. SO I cant pick on Bil...

Re: Marstar receivers
I think you may be sitting on a gold mine here. If you can get these receivers with the nose sections intact, people would pay thru the nose. 300 USD is not an uncommon price for that part. BUT, if it were that easy, someone would have already have done it. Spend some time looking into the legality ...

Re: Marstar receivers
Michael J, where in Canada are you? Maybe You can buy me a MG34 receiver and I can meet you one day at the border and buy it from you! WHo cares about all these messy little laws! IAW kidding, of course. Now, as far as cost.....the average 4 cut receiver in the US goes for anywhere from 700-900 buck...
