Re painting a lafette mount

Ok so I got a steal on an mg34 lafette mount someone stored in a garden shed. The paint was all but gone and I had no choice but to strip and reprime it to save it from rusting. You can't tell after repriming and replacing a few parts that were deeply pitted but the paint comes off real easy with br...

What is this part?

What is this part? I found it in a mg34 armorers parts kit. One part is for the mg34 variable rate. The other part I don't see in folkes book. I have other parts from 1935,36 and 37 and bsw marked parts in the armorers e and v ammo boxes

Re: MG34 variable rate receiver

are these receivers worth much? i have 2 2 cut recivers with matching bsw kits with milled top covers and the older style shrouds. my grips are rate reducing type with correct bakelite grips just no rate reducing parts in the grips

strange early bsw mg34

i picked this up from a guy locally but thought it was weird there is no date on the rear of the shroud. folkes book puts this serial in the range of a 1937 manufactured gun. I have another 37 but there is the large deep BSW on top of the shroud with the big 1937 date below it. which would be earlie...

Re: Where is the MGZ40 illumination battery box suppose to b

thanks!

I take it the original bulbs currently in the cable are 3 volt then? I dont want to fry them with 3 volts if they are not. The bulbs still look good. Filament is intact.

Re: How to completely take apart buttstock???

thanks, i managed to figure it out after i thoroughly rinsed it all out with mineral spirits to clean out all the gunk. Its sure a pain putting it back together, i ended up using a c clamp with rubber pads to hold the plunger in while retightening the nut

How to completely take apart buttstock???

Anyone know how to completely take apart an m53 stock? I have one damaged beyond repair and want to swap wood with a new one. Cant seem to figure out how to remove the stock because of the spring loaded rod that goes up and down.
