Re: "small" german arms collection

Absolutely staggering! There's a lot of time, thought and euros gone into that collection. Congratulations.

I know the part that you're talking about. I, too, always assumed that it was a slide to take some sort of instrument with a base like the optic sight until I was corrected by an armourer. It's as JB describes it.

It's empty. I bought an MG-Z42 optic sight to go in it and found that the base of the sight is too big to go right down to the bottom of the can. So I have a spare can and a spare sight. Perhaps I should put them into the F/S forum!.

I've just been informed that the gun is in such a good condition because it was one of 1000 made for delivery to Portugal in 1943 and thus saw little or no action.

The only all metal one that I have been able to lay hands on is a Tanaka Airsoft WZ-63 which I have modified . This is the same weight and size as the original and the only give away was the small nozzle on the underside of the magazine. BEFORE ALTERATION http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a166/benin...

Would rather have one that shoots! Even if only semi-auto. Very nice display though. Must be nice living close to so many historical places across the pond. Very nice tripods and optics. I have 7 mgz40 sights and am sort of a code nazi: what is the code on your sights? And, as far as a working MG34...
